Default st focus 2.5 into mk2

Hi guys
Is there any info on installing this engine into a mk2 escort as i plan to do this conversion shortly,ive done some research but cant seem to find any threads. i want to use the st engine rather than a t5 volvo

i think you should read up on the st engines block weakness. You may find the 2.3 engine from an 850R or V70R will be stronger.

Yes ive read that, only plan on going to 300bhp ish ive got a early t5 angine no vvt ,on dizzy but want a more modern engine also does anyone know of someone that could possible delete all signals that the ecu will look for apart from what the engine needs to run

Yes that 100e a great build, iam on a budget so ive had the st sump cut and added extra oil capacity to n/s of sump also running a 6 speed diesel bmw gearbox which is good for 400lb/ft of torque ,gearbox cost Ł100.

Will be great to follow your project, stand alone engine management might be a lot easier than trying to incorporate the ST wiring?

So will you be cutting out the bulk head for the engine to fit in the bay.

ST blocks have been known to crack even at standard tune, but some have run well over 300bhp without issue. Pot luck.

Yes havent had the sump back yet but measured and looks like about 50mm

Anyone know what ecu's will run the st 5cyl engine and any wire diagrams for that ecu

I'm using vipec v88, it allows up to 12 cylinders, where as the v44 only 4.
Just search the internet, for the wiring, you will find it.
I still have the original ecu if it's any help...

Thanks, i have the st ecu still waiting for my sump will take a few pics of it when its back.
