Rear bumper, spoiler, caps and jacking point covers are painted! So fingers crossed no more moonstone to paint, just got to do my fog surrounds silver and paint my new caliper pink tomorrow night and the painting is done.

Got her out the workshop yesterday, left it out in the rain all day, got a couple of small leaks to sort but nothing major

Just waiting for my wheel stickers to turn up and the strip for the rear bumper.

Had her out for a test drive few niggles to attend to as expected.

Have missed driving a Cossie, hit boost in second and she was sideways down the road

Like the ride height, sits really well...

Was only thinking of this, and a few of the others, the other day, been trying to find any old pictures of it, from the 10 / 12 odd years ago when I knew it, if ill find any, I'll post them up.

Think a lot of the 'antics' around Guildford cruise, Walton leisure centre car park etc, were from before the days of camera phones, sure there was pics of it on the old Surrey owners website, I'll see if I kept them...

Well driving home a few hours ago oil light flickered a bit then went out. Car then wouldn't idle, thought I could hear a noise so turned the radio down.

And I heard what I thought I had, a horribly rattling bottom end..

I'm so fucked off, just fitted a quick shift and new steering wheel and was really starting to enjoy using the car.

Now the engines fucked, I really don't know what to do. I feel like getting it taken over to my yard and putting the disc cutter through it/ just throwing it on eBay.

Had enough

Gutted for you mate!! Be a shame, after all the work you put into it....

As above, put it to one side and give it time, now the weathers going to be turning shit, at least it'll stay clean and dry in your lock up, rather than getting covered in salt and getting chips from grit being flung about!!

As above get the engine out and rebuilt over the winter. Mint shell and engine then be a crime to break after all your work

I was looking forward to getting her covered in salt and winter shit. It wasn't coming off the road for the winter. The whole reason I built this car was to use it all year, unlike my 3dr which is sat gathering dust in my garage.

I really don't know what to do at the moment. Need to sit down and think about it. I've got my mk1 escort to finish which is a painted shell at the moment. Maybe I should just focus on that.

Park the saff up, take a step back from it and concentrate on the mk1 for a bit... Seeing that take shape will keep your enthusiasm going... Can always start buying the bits your going to need to get the saff going in the next few months...

Listen to what people say. You sound like you have enough projects to keep busy. sounds as if money isn't an issue either so don't rush into stripping it. Save up the bits and hit it with a frsh head later on or next year

I would imagine it was down to oil pump failure. I suppose it's lasted alright considering it was last on the road in 2005, and I then fitted a t34.

I do abuse the car so I can't complain too much really.

I've calmed down a bit and had a think. I'm going to leave the car for a bit, probably until the new year. I'm fully booked until the end of the year anyway, so going to concentrate on that and breaking some cars.

Got my mk1 escort to fit back up and also my sapphire Ghia needs to be on the road by early December so loads to do as ever.

I will be replacing the engine rather than rebuilding it though
