MK2 Escort. Turboesky
Hi Guys. Andrew from Perth, Western Australia.
I am new to Passionford and thought i would share some photos of my car.
Its a 78 Mk2 Escort Coupe with a 2ltr pinto turbo.
Engine bay before brake upgrade
After brake upgrade
Front brakes (UPC ebay special)
Rear brakes (Ford EF falcon rotors and Nissan r31 skyline calipers)
Rally design pedal box
I have owned plenty of escorts over the years and its nice having one that stops well.
The standard Brakes will pull you up at speed but you only get one go at it!
Its running an EMS 8860 ECU mounted on top of the glove box.
It is still a work in progress and I just took delivery of a YB cossie to fit next!

Thanks Jonny
My next big spend will be a decent gearbox. I am going to stick with the 4 speed for now just to get it back on the road. I am still undecided between a T5 or a Toyota supra box.
Here is a pic of the engine after I unwrapped it yesterday.
Just realized the first photo is quite an old shot before I fitted coil overs and dropped the rear. This is how it currently sits

It started off as a 1.6 but got ripped out pretty quick.
The pinto made 265 bhp@25psi and was heaps of fun but was far too laggy.
I am hoping to get around 300 - 320 bhp out of the YB but will be running a gt2871 to get the response i want.

Here is a photo of the engine showing the water pump.
The water pump controller is great for track days. It will run the pump and fans for 2 mins after shutdown and gets rid of a lot of heat soak.
