Default my first ford project

copied and pasted from another site im on

well bought this focus about a year ago as a cheap write off, all it needed was a rear bumper it hasnt touched the boot floor or rear panels just the bumper.
I liked it so here it it so far (ill get some pics of how i picked it up looking like later)

i purchased and had painted a collection rear bumper looks much better than the standard looking thing i reckon (also need collection front and skirts)

clean enough i reckon

also aquired some of these so was rude not too
Name: 20130406_140442.jpg
Views: 56
Size: 65.9 KB

then came coilovers, i did have 17" mp3 alloys on this but they have gone to have the tyres removed to put on my new alloys which may cause problems
but will hopefully post more about those in a couple of days
Name: 20130406_140516-1.jpg
Views: 75
Size: 122.2 KB

also has an alpine iva d310 installed, a pioneer sub in boot, trip computer already in, blue led boot light and both footwells as well as hid's so far so good i reckon
im pretty pleased with it but will be putting a bigger engine in in the future when i can figure out how difficult it will be to swap as the 1.6 i dont think is really man enough

also i acquired a rear disc complete axle and it was a very easy job to change the entire thing over took about an hour
it did also have black tinted rear lights but me being a man broke one by leaning on it by accident so back to standard for now, i hope you like so far as i really do

oh and rear wiper arm is from a rover 75 estate, slight mod and it fits and looks better than standard

well new rimmage was dropped off at my work today all fitted out and ready to roll, so i thought id fit what a certain tyre company (tanvic tyres) said wouldnt fit because they are too wide.
what the hell do a tyre company know anyway ??

8.5x17 they dont look that wide
Name: 20130409_131433.jpg

rear camber adjusters and i reckon i could lose another inch or so on height
Name: 20130409_131446.jpg
Views: 62

you cant really see it but they are 215 40 17 with a little stretch

im very happy with how they fit and really like how they look very very happy bunny !!

searched where i work today and found some dial needles that fit quite nicely, a little shorter than the ford ones and need to figure out how to get them a little brighter, but i like the look of em
Name: 20130513_221056.jpg

well just another small update as my bumper has arrived and been painted also my front grill surround has been colour coded not that you can tell from these pics, but the cars starting to look something like i want, so happy days

before

and after realising that new bumpers look crap with dirty car
Name: 2013-05-25135421.jpg

just side skirts, camber arms, slammage and 170 headlights to get then i may consider a full respray not sure yet but i think its looking good so far

Name: 20130531_175140.jpg
Views: 69

yay some 170 headlights, should darken the front up a little

well pics suck cos i couldnt take a good photo if i got a professional to do it, but new blue shiny i ordered 40 to start with which i received 25 blue and 15 turquoise for some reason, once i start cleaning the engine bay they should stand out a bit more,i also need to order some m8 ones for slam panel also m6x1 nuts for the black plastic slam panel bit

closer

and also notice anything ?? yes thats right my mrs hasnt made me a cuppa !! not only kidding i received different colours for some reason

Name: 20130720_181213.jpg
Views: 44
Size: 42.3 KB

well once again adding a little to this, a couple of bits i should have added a couple of weeks ago but never got round to also something new
also once again crap pics but you can make them out im sure

dark rear upper lights, look loads better than standard ones i reckon

Name: 20130722_171543.jpg
Views: 63
Size: 87.6 KB

dark lowers, were supposed to be tinted but still look pretty good

Name: 20130722_171546.jpg
Views: 54
Size: 115.5 KB

dark repeaters and home made bonnet raisers (still need polishing, and 13mm) also if you squint and look really hard you can see me holding a bag with my chip dinner in nomnomnom

Name: 20130722_171554.jpg
Views: 87
Size: 58.4 KB

then this arrived, yes its a box

so i opened it and was confronted with yet another box (starting to feel a little like russian dolls now)

so many boxes when will it end, oh yeah now i know what i got

Name: 20130722_171820.jpg
Views: 52
Size: 74.5 KB
well now got my rear camber adjusters, also got 2 of my 205/40/17 so need two more then fit everything and lower with a bit of stance happy days

another small update before the bigger one comes

had these done for a while now but collection skirts and rear tints, just need to get a medium tint on the front now

Name: 20131029_124952.jpg
Views: 55
Size: 160.9 KB

will get better pic later when i get a few minutes also in a need for a clean i reckon as its starting to look a little homeless

oooh i wonder what this could be hmmmmmmm

well with mucho gracias to Jordan Boyle for use of workshop and huge help here is my next upgrade

with new cambelt kit and new sump, just short of exhaust manifold, clutch and exhaust flexi soon be fitting time may also need to remove a lot of alloys parts for a good clean as they look cack at the minute, so ill go back down to his soon armed with wire brushes, paint and drill with wire wheels

also 3 out of the 4 snapped manifold studs are now removed

well thankyou once again to Jordan Boyle for the front hubs also the ramp time its seriously appreciated what a legend thankyou

well old vs new, that isnt rust on the new disc its some greasy crap that rubbed off

Name: 20140111_161650.jpg

and new behind wheel, they really dont look very big in the pictures but they really do look huge in person and nearly no clearance behind the wheel

hopefully get the rears fitted next saturday and then start putting the engine together ready for fitting (hopefully within next month) cant think what else i need but i shall be ready for a little more power

well started conversion but have come up with a bit of a head scratcher, having problems deciding how to get round the o/s driveshaft carrier (use rs one, use standard 2.0 one if so how to get round oil feed )

Cool project. I do like these collection bumpers. I like the wheels but they should be silver cause with them being black you cant see them very well.

Doesn't look half bad ...

Always liked 3 door focuses. Loads better looking than the 5 doors.

Keep up the good work mate.

as always huge thankyou to JB Fordparts and JB's Garage on Rockingham Rd, Corby, for sourcing a huge ammount of the parts needed for this conversion also for ramp time, its much appreciated

well its aliiiiivvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yay
just need to figure out now how to get it to turn from the key as 3rd position is not working, which apparently the rs doesnt either so im presuming its an earth from ecu to starter relay ?? ill figure it out, also the whine is pas pump is fubar but easy change so not to worryvery very happy

a few more bits and pieces then a little roadtest i reckon will be required

also new air filter, catch tank breather filter, boost and water temp gauges ordered, need to get tinkering again now i reckon

right well it starts which is great, but this is by putting a live to the male plug that sits in engine bay that goes to starter solenoid, i have heard that the rs starter relay is under the bonnet and the standard (like mine non rs) starter relay is behind the glovebox in mine, any electrical wizards can supply wiring diagrams for both these cars or where i should run a wire from to the starter solenoid to enable position 3 on my car ??

i am using rs engine loom and standard interior loom, the rs has push button start but no position 3 ignition start

thanks for any help

I would like to avoid that if possible but thinking I may have to. Would be far easier with wiring diagrams or someone whos done this conversion. I believe the wire from ecu to starter relay is red and black from pin 27 just need to see what position it goes to on the relay or maybe even pos 3 to ecu is missing in rs loom

the rs interior loom is really basic there is no heated screen or trip comp etc... very basic hence why it wasnt used, so now i have rs power with better equipment

well sorted its just an earth that is missing from the rs engine loom so five mins one wire and its away, been roadtested and its all good, just uprated actuator now and a remap and lifes good

few more bits to add to it then i reckon start saving for a full respray

not sure what map to go for and i reckon about 300bhp would be ideal for my everyday i reckon

so far only has air filter, tubular manifold, decat and front mount intercooler, running standard exhaust as have heard from a lot of people that they are the best for it and only normally get changed when the mounting brackets start falling off, just need to find out what else i would be needing just for 300ish

ill get some more pics next weekend when im at the car again, soon will be taking parts off to get it tidied up now i know it works

well I purchased an uprated actuator from dpc a couple of weeks ago and was going to be fitting it this weekend but after being informed by a friend that my car belches out a small amount of blue smoke when changing gear from boost I believe the turbo seals maybe also on there way out, so actuator not bing fitted this week

next on my list will be one of the uprated john frs turbos from dpc, hopefully should be able to order this week but not sure if the turbo I have has to be sent now to get the new one or after the new one is fitted as its my daily drive so cant really be without the car at the minute, so hopefully soon some good news for a change !!

just thought id add to this, it looks like something somehow has found its way into my intake past the airfilter ?? strange times but if the car was this quick on a knackered standard turbo then it should be fun with a new johnsfrs turbo and forge actuator with 22psi spring !!

a bit of an oops picture

well new turbo acquired from demon performance also forge actuator fitted and now running at 1.2 bar which is good enough for me, and the car pulls like a train, but now its gone from blue smoke to grey and occasional black puff, starting to lose hope with this car lol car runs absolutely fantastic
anyone any ideas ?? im going to be checking for damaged boost hoses and will possibly be removing the atmospheric dump valve, also does not lose any water what so ever

who makes these bloody project cars ??
