Yes we are!
In your near enough identical thread you asked how much it was worth? I replied with about Ł500 as I stupidly presumed it had the unpopular DOHC i4 engine, however a 2.0i pinto changes that a little bit. Not too much mind, but if it's money your after I would remove engine, box with ecu etc and sell separately
Good luck with whatever it is you end up doing.

Rob, I've often wondered why these mk2 2 doors come with both long nosed and short nosed bonnets, then I just thought does that kind of give away if it's SOHC or DOHC? Mine is a twincam and came with a Saff style bonnet, did yours originally have a Saff bonnet? Mine was given a H reg - what's yours?

Hi all I thought I would update you all on the work that has been done to the car over the past few months.
The car was in good condition when we got it. The shell was solid apart from the left rear arch and the left seat mountings. The man who sold us the car said the engine did not run. So when we got it home we emptied the petrol tank, cleand out the fuel lines put new petrol in,cleand the spark plugs and after quite a bit of faffing around it started.
It was not running right and made a funny noise but it ran long enought to get it in my dad's work shop. When we took the engine apart it revealed that it had blown the head gasket between 2 pistons.
The rear arch has been replaced ( but finding a 2 door arch was not easy)
We have treated the car to some new front breaks which revealed the last owner had uprated the front suspension.
I beg my Dad to put some saff cossie wheels on it but he likes the ones that are on it (so it does not look like I am going to win that arguement )
The work on the car is going well and I will keep the pics coming.
