Default More bits for project ' Queen '.

Must admit ive not seen them yet but Mark posted these pics on another Forum.
I contacted Jenvey to supply a ITB setup to support 1000bhp for project 'Queen'. It comes with duel fuel rails to supply the 8off 1000cc injectors.
It has a more modern contactless P&G TPS to replace the Weber PF01.

This is for an engine being built just for fun. Will have to cope with over 50psi of Boost & probably E85 fuel. With old age comes madness .

Heard from Mark last night my new Spec head will arrive tomorrow.
Slightly tweaked ports, new type valve springs & different but Standard size valves. I must make time to get to see these new parts before Mark flys to Vegas on Monday .

Went over to Marks today first time for a month or so. Quick pics of the bits that have arrived. Jenvey, Borg 9180 & the tweaked head with new valves. Mark also had a chat with his cam people about a mild tweak to the exhaust cam. Small change to lift & duration but nothing drastic to spoil the mix we had on the last engine its been ordered. Will push this set up a lot further with extra boost up to 3.6bar.

Wow thats gonna be an animal - 50psi
--------------------------------------------

You'll have to make sure you've got a filter good enough to stop small animals, people and whatever else that is around - that isn't strapped down - from being sucked into the engine

Nothing happens for months & then it all happens at once .
The part we are having made to help with Block integrity is complete & ive just payed for it . Cost a tad more than discussed but its a first for a YB & was a tad more difficult to develop. Will be taking all the bits to the Vibration people to get balanced as a unit after Mark gets back from Sema. Think Mark has other idea as well that will be discussed at the time. We are giving this a good shot lads it wont be easy.

Ive always stopped Mark going for big Power cos I needed to drive this thing to the Darby & Jones club but having two Spec's will i hope give the Tall one a crack at some big numbers. If it fails thats life but if we dont try I think I will always regret it in later years as I consider mods to my my zimmer to make it handle better .

50psi will certainly keep you on your toes,
Jenvey make some awesome bits of kit
Are you going to have the spec/power switchable or is it going to run around the 1000bhp mark all the time

The 1000bhp is for the Dyno with a gtx4202 running 50+psi.
In the car it will have a bw efr9180 running 40+psi in the mid 800's.
What we will use on a Topspeed run is not yet decided.

Even the mid 8's is going to be a fun toy,
Top speed will be good to see are you still using the same ratio box as the last run

Using the 19" wheels 8.3K in 5th is 219.3mph we simply wont have the Power to pull that so yes we have the gearing covered. Aim is 214mph which should be possible with 820 +100 shot of Nitrous. Remember these figures are easy to quote but not so easy to achieve so mean nothing at this time.

No idea but way more than standard it has lots more sound proofing, heavier gearbox & axle, Nitrous kit & dry sump.

Anything over the 200mark is respectable, I'm sure you will achieve 214mph, are you testing it at bruntingthorpe

We achieved 210mph back in 2005 unofficially with circa 840bhp it will take about another 80/100bhp to hit 214 so its not easy but we will give it a bash. Will final map & set up Nitrous at Brunters & if conditions are good theres no point going twice.

Yeh true that, me and a friend came back in a recovery truck yrs ago at brunters trying to push an escort to its limit, and we was getting stressed over 2mph as we hit 148mph and couldn't get no more out of it and we taped up everything for aero and eventually it went pop, so yeh getting a few extra mph is a massive challenge

Good stuff rod, great that your continuing developing it. If u run the 1000hp engine with nitrous on top would it hold together? And if so how fast do u think it would go at bringers then?

How else aerodynamically can your car be improved , At these massive speeds i,m thinking about underside , even the diff and such like would cause quite a drag loss. ??
Or is there an undertray or similiar to help or is it not really an apparent problem?

How does the idle control and or anti lag by pass work with these inlets?

I thought the inherent problem with smooth undertrays is without sufficient downforce at high speeds they have tendency to cause lift, see Mark Webber in the 1999 Le Man.
But i'm no aerodynamicist

Jenvey supply a distribution block for idle or any other manifold input.
We are using two distribution blocks in this application + a 3rd drilling in each throat for Nitrous.

There will be 2 pipes on each runner joining in to 2 inlet blocks so one for idle control and one for DV map fuel.

Its not a route we have taken but we use a 4x4 undertray. At these speeds we have seen a bonnet bend at the edges so we now have aero pins. Indicator clusters will simply blow away wiring & all if you rely on the springs supplied these are now held with self tappers. Was at Brunters when a sun roof blew out fixings and all at 170mph so we tape that down. We run 17" front & 19" rear to run front down with a RS500 style front lip thats about it.
We have considered a flat floor & a parachute but these need testing to get right.
When the next generation trys to beat these times & they will im sure all these other area will be explored but where do you stop. We go as fast as possible with lots of grunt nothing else really.

What 30+secs at WOT i very much doubt it would hold together for anything like that time. With the 'push' system activated that would be 1250bhp . Anyway we have not seen 1000bhp yet that may only be 900 we dont know untill its tried.

As for a theoritical speed we need to lengthen the gearing thats for sure so more Power to pull it so I guess a very romantic 235mph if the fairies visited earth for a day. Striving to get 940bhp to run the length of Brunters is more than a challenge im sure .

If it did hold together that would be incredible! See what u mean tho not worth risking.
I don't think anyone will attempt to challenge u sadly, plus it would take a very special car/engine combo which is very unlikely to happen.

Using a Ford YB Block/Head you may be correct. Some see these new alloy Block/Head as being a YB but im sure Ford had no input they are a copy with the warts sorted. If i were to go away from the YB then it would be a v8 or a v10 to get real Power.

But surely as soon as you start modding things like inlet, turbo, pistons, crank, rods, ect thats just the same as having a different block/ head combo and not as ford intended?
