ST170 Tuning advice
I've got a ST170 on GSXR 750 throttle bodies, 4:2:1 exhaust, canems ECU switching the VVT at 1850 rpm (Not ideal, crude but all the ecu will do.)
I'm looking to make around 220 - 240 bhp around 7500 rpm with useable torque throughout.
I'm planning on getting the head ported and polished but aside from that..not sure which direction to go.
I'd like cams but not sure whether to go vvt delete Cat Cams or other options?
What CR do I aim for with what cams..and how to make it..head skim, block decked or aftermarket rods and pistons?
OR...is standard bottom end good for the power?
Has anyone who's built one with decent power got any useful advice?

you cant fix stupid
i dont get why people vvt delete. that means you just got to spend more money getting the power back to where it was already? i read a recent article in fast ford i think it was and will pedley said why would you delete the very thing that makes the st170 engine great. i wont question his logic either as he knows how to tune a 170 so his advice is good enough for me.
i know he can tune a standard engine on itbs with new ecu and guarantee 195-200 so with some extra mods your figures should be within reach. i only wish i could afford to do it. but in all honesty its prob cheaper to just supercharge or turbo and get even more power
