Cheers Glenn I agree...think they look well.

The tyres are too big though and catch on the arches especially on the front. Think they're 225/45/16.

Needs changing...

Cheers matey Happy enough with it alright.....nearly bloody there

I was gonna go with exactly that tyre size next.....they're a balls of a size to get though...well that's what everybody tells me anyway

I have new 215/40/17s on the diamond cuts but they're off at the minute before getting them recon'd.

Few more bits to do anyway so I'll keep the updates coming

Cheers for the reply mate

Default A little update...

Crystal bluesy finally got mapped

Best run it made was 375bhp and 401ft/lb peaking at 29psi. It's peaking at 31psi on the road so I'm guessing over 380bhp and 410ft/lb....not sure but just guestimating

Got ambers too....finally!!!

Finally got my 3rd Ford Racing gauge and added a little Irish touch to them...

2 things on my wishlist now but won't get them for a while.....6 degree beam and big brakes.

I'm delighted with it and it drives well....get used hard too!

Haven't tried anything top end yet......the ring and autobahn next year should confirm that.

Cheers and thanks for all the help, advice and great comments, much appreciated.

Philip.

Cheers mate. Much appreciated It took some effort and bucket loads of money but it's worth I suppose...!

MSD fitted the antilag. The ISCV was bored out to allow more airflow I believe. They added the loom and switch also. I don't have a maram shafted T34 so I use it very sparingly...just going through tunnels and the odd bit of showboating for the craic

It does sound good though. Must put up a video of it now as the video above was before the ISCV was modded and bored out.

Plan for the Summer is engine bay overhaul as just don't have the time just now with work, college and moving house. If I can afford it, 6 degree beam and big brakes so the diamond cut RS7s will have to go Got braided looms too will install them when the turbo gets here

Hadn't started the old girl in 2 months as I've been away and stuck at other things. Started 1st turn thank God.

Have to seriously clean the engine bay as I think it's an absolute mess

This Summer and a few new bits should get it done. Brand new loom to go in also. Have to take out the bloody box again and put on a different speedo worm on the main shaft too so will be kept busy with that. Then, all going well...an MK 6 degree beam and big brakes. It'll be almost there then

Philip.

Cheers mate. It made 375/402 bhp/lb/ft at 29psi at MSD already. It was making 32psi on the real open road so prob over the 380 mark at this stage. Not interested in numbers, just all round good performance. Reliability isn't great but feck it. I enjoy it and that's all that matters. Will be around the same with this turbo, maybe a little less with the smaller exhaust housing. Or at least a little less top end power but I don't care as never had it flat out in 5th!

Taken it close enough but didn't want to push it because something always seems to break on it then

At least the Mar-M 247 shaft is there for aggressive antilag should I decide to install it! It cost almost as much as the turbo but I was lucky to get it so happy out.

I still have the 0.63 housing anyway.

Philip.

Hi mate,

I'll have to take the oil catch tank on the left, mirror of the water tank. Was thinking of spraying them both black but don't know if I'd regret it or not yet?! What's your thoughts? I'd have black breather and 2 black tanks then plus I'd prob have the PAS tank in black also!

I'm happy out with it Glenn. I think it's finally almost there, 2 years and a shed load of moolah later

If only I could stop the oil leaks now I'd be really happy. Any ideas lol?!!!

Out with the old, in with the new.

Messy lol

Fecking dickhead of a gearbox had to come out again for the love of fuck

Used the bro's pit for the job.

Had no speedo on the clocks. Changed cable, speedo drive etc, still the same and eventually stripped the gearbox and found this wanker of a pin broken!!!!!

Thought the speedo worm gear was gone but it was ok thank God, only slipped down the shaft as the pin had broken, some good news I suppose

This is the problem:

Stripped a spare T5 I have (in pic) and the speedo worm gear is the earlier ball and circlip type which I've been told never break haha but aren't interchangeable with the later crappy clippy type I have, hoorah.

Ordered a new clip from the U S of A and a 6 tooth speedo worm. Looks the same as my T5 type but don't know for sure as have heard about varying ratios or speedo output but don't know enough and don't mind as mine is still fine and the new parts were dirt cheap, clip $8 and worm gear $18.

NCT/MOT now in 3 weeks so hopefully should have the clip before then. Then install it, fit gearbox and take her for the test. That's it for now.

Philip.

Default Flew through NCT/MOT!!!

She flew through the NCT/MOT. All good for another year. It's really very nearly finished now........next steps:

1. Fix a few fuses as I think the fuse box is on its way out so cut the wires from below and fuse holders already bought.

2. Fix boost issue...only boosting to 25psi after new turbo installed but I think Amal valve is fooked as it's boosting to 25psi with Amal connected AND disconnected plus I can't seem to hear it click on ignition. Should peak at 32 and hold 27.

3. Get new speakers

4. Get 6 degree beam + Supra diff

5. BIG Brakes - Unsure yet whether to get rid of the diamond cuts I think they're the best looking wheel but only really for show as it's my daily, the stone chips crack the lacquer and the dreaded corrosion has started to form already only after a year after refurb This is a balls as I'd need to refurb them every year

7: Wheels? If the diamond cuts go, possibly MO6's. Been done to death but surely that's because they look the tits

Any opinions welcome

Are comp MO6's and AP 6 pots worth it or would diamond cut RS7's with AP 330s be better? Hmmmmm.....

Cheers,

Philip.

Hi John,

Updates are few and far between lately but this year should be good as I've decided to 'finish' it before Ford Fair 2016.

I've contacted Compomotive, Reyland and MK Motorsport for wheels, brakes and a 6 degree beam respectively.

It's the saving that is a complete ball ache --> So much moolah

Hopefully have it done by May / June time frame.....

I'm almost finished designing, building and programming a car alarm for it (degree FYP) so will post here when it's all working. It is going good so far, just ironing out some kinks. Programming is tough to say the least

Thanks for the comment

Shame about having to do the wheels all the time. Fooking nightmare with the gearbox too.

Nice to here its used daily too matey. I would use mine more if it wasnt for the salt on the roads. Ive spent a fortune on bodywork and i dont want the salt to ruin it again.
