She's home
After 4 years locked up away, she's arrived at the new house. She wasn't for starting tho, and was stored on a hill and couldn't get the trailer near, but after my cousin said "typical ford get the diesel battery on her" she just fired up, smoke and rattle free (apart from a fan belt squeal) so chuffed finally, its like I just bought her again, have to keep looking out the window just to check.

Well, making progress now, albeit slow, turbo conversion is now out and the majority of the bay has been degreased, surprised how good it is really. Was a pain to get out tho without a hoist but it all went well. Plan is to get the turbo set up sold and start parts of the bodywork and do anything I can before the garage is built next year, lots I can do tho to save time later.
It was a bit scary getting it to this height

I don't think you can get them from ford anymore, few people I know have tried, but no joy. It's just a waiting game for one to pop up on eBay, or try motomobil, German based parts company, they have a lot off hard to find parts and the stock changes all the time, so worth keeping an eye on.

Fiddly, boring job done. Cleaned and treated all the coolant hoses, just waiting on a couple of gen jubilee clips then that's that job boxed off.
Few random shots.

Well time for a little update, sorry it's been a while.
The copper braid is for the dizzy heat shield
Non gen coil. I am going to make up a replica sticker of the computer at some point.
Random bits and pieces for the engine
Heat shield was very rusty, best I could get it.
Sparkly new sump
Few bits cleaned up to OCD standard, put aside for zinc plating. I may buy the kit to do my own. Also a few parts prepped for paint.
Surprised how well the rad cable holder came up, also was very rusty
(Top tip-pre treat with Molasses, works great in eating rust) I'd stick the car in it if I could
Door cards cleaned twice and a few repairs made, mainly lifting on the top edge, good as new now.
Boot boards cleaned, edges re-faced, painted etc. also fitted dealer locks to them, no instructions just the schematic from the ford computer. Got it right thank god. Very surprised how well they work you can put far more force on lifting up than what I expected, really do work well.
Hope you like

I spotted them on the parts computer system they use at the ford dealers one day. I had a long list and the guy was getting fed up trying to find little bits and went through a schematic of the rear/floor end and I spotted them.
Asked him what they were and he printed it off for me, so he ordered them expecting them to be obsolete and they turned up. Bonus
Evans Halshaw wrexham.

If you mean the zinc ones, shhhhhhhh there land rover ones, same design as ford, probably from the same manufacturer
eBay them something like land rover brake or fuel line clips see them quite often coming up in ford related searches.

Little update on progress....
Well on the way with the garage foundations. It will be around 18ftx16ft and will be sectional as I have half of one donated from a recent job.
It will be panelled up in feather board and nice beams on the front and corners so it will look like a nice barn.
There's also a very tight budget
Turned out to be a big job, put a pit in they said... It will be fun.
So a 16ft long pit has been dug 6ft deep after floor in. 2ft down hit very heavy clay=total nightmare! Had to dig all the soil out down to solid clay and replace with clay, mainly to have enough soil (25ton) to level the garden and to get rid of a lot of the clay. Without the need for a skip I'll let the picks do the talking.
It was all done by one man and his shovel
And some recycled shuttering
Anyway on to the car bits
Mint telescopic ariel and new mounting kit
New waffle rubber mats
New floor plugs
Rear reflectors
More floor plugs
Had an interesting and unusual find too, well I think so
Genuine xr2 overnight bag, very nice in the flesh, mint too.
Great to chuck all the crap in you need when going to the shows.

Making progress now. Took the shuttering down to join the visqueen and raise the shuttering up for the next pour. Only one little weep so far from a spot on the wall. Will be tanking it anyway but I'm hopeful when the visqueen is joined and the water between the plastic and the wall has dispersed should be all good.
Just need the weather, it's been a nightmare!

Little update on where I'm up to, my garage is nearly ready to put up, can't wait
Doors are on a rail and fold up either way with good security on the inside of them too, side door on the end. Hopefully ordering the timber Monday if I can get time.
Roll on some nice summers evenings to get working on her.
Regards. Jae

Thanks, bit of a budget build but should do the job for now, plan to add interconnecting sheds to the side and rear eventually.
