Default 1964 Mk1 Cortina n/a Cosworth

Here is my Mk1 Cortina that I bought about 6 months ago,
The rolling shell is in very good condition and as far as I can see its never been welded. It came with full bolt in roll cage, 8inch allycats, gaz golds all round, AP 4 pots from a Formula 3000 car, Tranx LSD with 4.1 I think and a custom full stainless exhaust.
Ive been buying bits for it here and there and have got…
2000e box, Lotus remote gear lever, JONDEL N/a Cosworth engine 240bhp, engine management and Jenvey throttle bodies.
Plans are to get it built up and running, possibly get a months use out of it this year then strip it all back to respray it either Team Lotus or Alan Mann colours. The idea is to have it looking like a period race car with stripped interior and a pair of old classic buckets.

Ive just bought a new house and have finally got my own workshop after renting and borrowing for years so can crack on with the rebuild.

Put a load of posters up of classic fords to keep me motivated along with a poster of my own motor!

Will update as I go along with the rebuild....

The Harris x/flow that is fitted in the pics was the original plan but ive taken a deposit on it since the cosworth engine came up for grabs.

Thanks mate, I bought the car as a rolling shell without Nicks 2.0 xflow. I planned to run it with my Ron Harris 1640 Xflow but the n/a cosworth came up.
Na I sold bens old Mk1 a while back to a couple boys over in cork.

Yeah AX block, one off pistons with special rods and crank and about Ł9k. First time on the rollers made 175, should have been good for 200bhp so im told.

Got the engine fitted in place today along with an Alichi steering rack and x/member kit to improve the handling over the old steering box.

The engine is a Jondel built n/a cosworth pushing out 236bhp on 48mm Bodies and management so should go alright in the wee Tina.

Well I have been busy on other jobs and haven't managed to get near the Cortina so I sent it off to Scott McMinn Motorsport who used to work for A G motorsport.

Scott made and fitted the gearbox tunnel, exhaust tunnel, seat bars and gearbox mount. The reason the exhaust tunnel is larger at the rear is im going to fabricate a side exit S/S exhaust so the room was needed for the silencer. Top notch work.

I have bought a nice new pair of seats for the Cortina, full carbon jobbies from a 911 Gt3 RS.
