What flywheel/clutch are you using? Tried fitting mine today and yesterday and ran into a problem I had the 1.8 flywheel and clutch and I was originally gna use the 1.8 gearbox but changed to 1.3 so the spline is smaller

When I had an ib5 in mine I used an escort rs turbo clutch with 1.3 box and 2.0 blacktop.

Is the escort rs same as the fiesta rs clutch? Iv got a fiesta one for cheap to try tonight. But when I tried to mount the gearbox to the block with the 1.8 clutch in it was rubbing inside the bell housing? Maybe the 1.6 plate doesn't stick out so far or il just grind of the bits inside theb bellhousing lol

Yeah I found that when I used the 1.7 puma clutch (from the engine that was in there prev) it was too fat, and was acting as if the clutch was half pushed down all the time so just slipping. Esrt clutch is a bit slimmer.

Put the zetec clutch and frst clutch on the floor and make sure it's a bit slimmer.

1.6 fiesta and puma same price and part number
1.6 focus and 1.8 focus same price same part number.

Hence why Im ordering a 1.6/1.8 uprated clutch as there £90 cheaper than fiesta/puma 1.6 clutch

http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=...e-1-Clutch-Kit

focus 10mm bigger and £81 cheaper

alot of people forget the focus was the first car to have the 1.6 which is under rated as the 1.6 focus uses bigger clutch frp gear ratios. The fiesta and puma had smaller versions due to not needing it as there much lighter than the focus.

Explain why my clutch and clamping plate have a bigger suface area than my 1.6 one then if its the same yet the guy above has the 1.8 clutch and he carnt fit it in his 1.3 gearbox yet I can?

The 1.6 fiesta clutch isn't 210mm is it? Pretty sure when I put it next to my 1.8 one it was loads smaller. At least 50mm
