2.0 Zetec Turbo Project Top-Zecret UPDATED 4-8-13
after having my current build in my car for a couple months and has been great fun and fun to drive with, but ive decided to rebuild the second engine I got in my garage (turbo again) but this one is aiming for much more power and overall a better spec
the block is being sent of for Machining and new mains and big ends.
Its got NEW Eagle H-beam rods and Supertech forged pistons and Supertech Rings to go with.
New Unused 2.0 Zetec cylinder head " soon to be sent for 3-Angle valve seats and mild porting "
the Gt28 garret turbo currently in the car has sadly been damaged and seals have gone so being sent away and having a hybrid conversion
New Stainless tubular manifold.
The old zetec turbo engine will be up for sale and going cheap so if interested let me know.

quick update, bottom end is almost finished....
decided to get the bolts re drilled and tapped out for M12 head bolts instead of M10
new CatCam valve springs are on order and due to be fitted next week..
Turbo has arrived at the shop and is being converted to a t28 hybrid as I type this
On the controversial side of things im thinking about fitting this new engine into a focus mk1 estate... Thoughts people?

When this said mk2, I thought Fiesta!
Definitely go for an estate, that'd be cool as fuck!
Do you have the old engine still? What's the spec?

new update, lots has been done, engine Is now ready to fit minus a lower crankcase (being welded for oil return) so fitted an old one temporary just so can now fit the engine... that's if I get a good day with the weather lol...
just some photos of whats been happening
I was fortunate enough to get hold of this from a focus rs breaking, has now been fitted new gaskets and some locktite flange sealant.
intercooler arrived and has now been fitted nicely behind the bumper this time, going to be sprayed in black to give it a real stealth look
lovely 6 paddle ap racing clutch

nice mate. thinking of going down zetec turbo route for something... was going to use focus rs internals simular to your first set up.....
how much boost did u run and did it all work fine??? also what management did you use?? just wondered why you went new route...... also how come you had the head bolt hole drilled out to m12?
sorry for questions just wanted a little more info on the zetec turbo route. cheers

using megasquirt management, and went new route with forged simply to cope with more power. also M12 bolts allow me to run more boost, as even the ARP head stud and nut kit can lift from the block.

Did you go with an Estate in the end?

rs internals is fine mate for around 300 any more than that I would recommend you go forged, boost was running around 1.3 bar but would float at high revs but 1.1bar was more than fine,

I couldn't get an estate sadly mate, wasn't any local or in any decent nick...
I did go to Manchester to MOTOR MANIA but BEWARE SHIFTY ARSE F*CKERS. tried to tuck me right in with a car so dangerous I wasn't even sure it would be safe to go more than 30mph...
instead I went with a V nice 5door in green. solid as a rock and all bodywork is straight re-sprayed my alloys in work and now looks the NUTS
