So I live in an old farm cottage in the wilds of east anglia
We rented it for years as the rent was cheap and landlord didn't care what we did (I broke up cars)
The landlord died so my old man bought me the house ( handy huh) I had been saving to buy it myself but as that was now spare cash we are adding an extension to make a bigger kitchen and this the old kitchen will be a dining room or something
5 mtrs wide by 4 mtrs we had to get permission to build which was easy
Then we got in with it
I gave up with builders as they were never forthcoming with info prices and that was if they even turned up so as luck would have it my brotherinlaw is a foreman with a good sized local builder so we asked him and he is banging it up in his spare time
Now for the pics
Well I would do pics but pb is a total arse

I'm also building a garage

Look forward to seeing the updates. We've just done a loft conversion which I quite enjoyed getting involved in. Your right about builders and trying to get info and prices off them.

The farmer lent us his digger and swapped his 5 ton trailer whenever we had filled it and I already had the mixer, so far we have dig down to foundation level and poured the foundation hopefully this weekend we have us to over site level with the brick/block so we can start filling around the perimeter as the digger has gone back for a week or so and the garage is only half dug if that and there is 10 ton or soil on the drive ready to go

I have an xr2 and 3i and it was very entertaining pulling the xr2 up the garden with the 3i that had no front end and loose seats with no one to steer the xr2
