Default The Battleship project

Well ive been meaning to start something like this for ages but im pretty useless at finding time for computers if im honest so you may have to bare with me a little but id like to share this with you as i genuinely believe im going to build one epic car!!

Ive been collecting bits from before i even picked the car up, the day i knew it was mine i searched hard and long to find the bits i knew i needed and was very lucky in doing so as i tracked down the management that the previous owner had fitted!

Then came a chap in Essex called Kev, the man is a star. Saved the Leda coilovers he had for around six weeks then i took the long drive from Derby to Southend to collect them and made a new Ford loving friend!!

From this point things just got a bit crazy and a few trips to see Karl and Oli at NMS to relight a few old flames soon set me on a mission searching for ideas!! The talk of gearbox conversions and the potential for 450 bhp just made me a little moist.

After the box shat itself in a true BC style its just sat collecting dust as i collect parts to finish it properly and do it justice.

The plan now is too fit a new engine that Karl is building me based on a brand new mk1 focus rs bottom end and a mk2 focus rs gearbox. Im now planning on fitting a Custom Cages multipoint weld in cage some Recaro Profi SPG's and a host of Stack instrumentation with a dash of Goodridge thrown in for good measure....

Like i say bear with me this could be long winded

Anyway this is how the car is now as i prepare the car for Oli to work his cage fitting magic

The rear all stripped out

A quick under bonnet shot u, the rocker cover is not staying its for sale lol

More pics to come

Thanks for looking

White would look good with the alloys but could be too bright with the interior. depends what else is going to be happening inside the car (seat wise/harnesses etc)

Nothing much apart from an alloy blank where spare wheel used to go, two black Recaro profi SPG's with grey scroth harnesses! May have dash flocked, few stack gauges and that's it no carpet or oat just carbon panels on the sides for trim! That's it, it's either white or same as the car just not sure yet

Well ive started to strip it down under the bonnet too so i can advertise my old engine and box. I can also start to get an idea of how things will look under there with all the stuff taken off i no longer need!! It looks a million times better just for being able to see the gearbox again!!! Will look bare when the master cylinder is also no longer there too!!!

Took delivery of some new parts today which ive got off people on here again

Full set of Roose hoses in black and the Pectel board for my L8. So glad ive found one as i dont think they can be brought from Pectel any more and the Colins ones are 150 plus the dreadded!! 55 delivered and its mint!!

Going back to my unit once i wake up from my night shift so will get some more pics and get some more progress made, plan to get the engine out on sat when Lewis comes to help me and claim his free interior!!!

Took Lewis to the lock up today so he could collect his free interior and have a few hours down there with me and my friend who has also got his project car in there!!

Took the B+M off today ready to sell it tomorrow and got it ready to take the shafts out so i can take the engine out next week and get some pictures to try and realease some more much needed cash

Heres a few more shots of how she is now

Cheers for the help Spooner

Quick shot of the new suspension (Thanks Kev)

The new top mounts i made

A quick teaser of the rather large collection of Goodridge ive managed to collect for the build. All the fuel in the stainless braid, all the oil/coolant in the aramid kevlar braid. Its all the new PTFE stuff but just think the aramid stuff works well with my colour scheme and the black and silver fittings are a nice change Nice 13 row Setrab oil cooler too

Just need to drop the engine out now
