Phosphor bronze bush made for the clutch release arm as the IB5 casting has a larger opening than the BC/B5. All is fitted up now and ready to be mated up to the engine.
Also sorted the wiring today in order to get the car loom back to standard, who ever did the conversion the first time round really didn't spend enough time or effort doing so. 1.1 gearbox and very badly hacking into the loom. all being sorted now just very slow going:
I just need to wire in a new aux circuit for the fuel pump and an additional fused relay for the spots. The Alpha kit is linked in and ready to roll. Big updates to follow this week!

Hi people another big update, got first crank today she spins like a dream now, plus all my standard wiring is now repaired with the correct wiper relay. I have also now finished my auxiliary loom, fuses and relays for fuel pump, spot lamps and stereo.
The engine and gearbox are in with new output shaft seals fresh oil and such. I have fitted the fuel pump with new m6 riv nuts and silent blocks. The engine mount I took out the car was pretty concerning but that is now sorted:
Nicely powdercoated!!
Happy viewing!!!

4.25% regulation 3.5, all fixed and now fully certified. Can carry on with the fun bits.
Picking up a donor IB5 this coming Friday to rebuild with LSD to hopefully sort out some of the squirminess!

Loads of geometry issues, car was trying to climb over itself, spent two 3 hours on Thursday with my good friend martin sorting things out.
Its getting there, it just needs another going over now, I need to skim down my front camber adjustment shims to gain half a degree of adjustment. Then set a little bit of toe out to gain some more steering stability.
Definitely getting better though!!!

Hopefully mate, recently bought a house and only just got back online.
Plan is to recommission the old girl this weekend for a blast through the midlands hitting FF14.
Should be fun!

So decision time has come. We have decided that fiesta in its current state isn't good at either thing its trying to be so....
Over the next 15 months or so we are looking at a complete rebuild and revision of the spec.
Time to Strip it Out!!! I feel a roll cage coming on.

MK2 Fiesta Independent rear suspension conv
The first phase of the rebuild will be to do away with the archaic panhard, tubular beam rear setup in favour of an adapted independent rear suspension system.
Anyone with any experience of this on a mk2 giving advice would be greatly appreciated.
target atm is to modify and ST170 rear beam and components to suit with new AVO dampers and springs.
Then I'll be looking at the front, need to address the engine/induction foul conditions first.
