Used to annoy me on trackdays in a standard FRP as the tuned cossies had me on the straights but theyd brake earlier meaning ive caught up and had to cut my cornering speed due to thier slow ass handling. Especially annoying if its some bellend who wont pull to the side to let you overtake because he thinks he shouldnt have to as he has more power.

Haha i can imagine thats frustrating
To be fair with 240bhp in a light frp that gets out the corner faster a cossie wont pull away to much down a straight

youll probably be able to go around anything without a 6 degree beam on the outside of most corners!!
People really underestimate how good a well maintained and set up FRP is around a track, especially with an uprated diff and decent level of power to match its limits of grip.

Pics from yesterday, didnt get as far as i liked, 28 degrees is my excuse
Skimmed the head first
Then gave it a real thorough clean
Excuse my terrible pictures
Inlet ports
I dont think you could get any bigger valves in
Exhaust ports
Inlet manifold matched perfectly to the head and dowled in position
Still got a long way to go yet as a lot of working out has to be done for valve spring heights, crush etc then having custom shims made but can pretty much build it over thennext week

Sorry i have not updated in a while have been waiting on piston issues.
Finally the pistons are sorted and have started building the engine.
Compression ratio is now also sorted with a little more off the block.
Washed everything off put the shells, crank in and got it all torqued up
Then sorted the billet part of my inlet and took it to be anodised in aeroquip blue to match the fittings going to be in the fuel rail,
Painted oil pump,
The head is all built up ready for the inlet, which is ready to build back up
Bit of plating and painting then it should be about there, i have not decided on cam cover colour yet i was thinking blue.
Pistons are also in but didnt take a picture
Just got to paint the sump then put that on then its ready for the head on along with a few new bits like water pump etc.
Then its down to the old chap as cam timing with the vvt is not my area of expertise lol
Its all coming together pretty quick now
Just need to get a week of empty dyno time

Made good progress today
Wire brushed my sump, etch primed then painted it.
The next pics speak for themselves
The last pictures are where we finished for today which was tappet shims which take forever, its all coming together well and should be on the dyno next weekend hopefully, would be sooner but have 3 others waiting unfortunately.
