Ford Sierra 24v Turbo by Vebotrim
Aight, its time to show whats going on in the garage!
Last year i build myself a single turbo 2,9l v6 Ford Sierra.
I never tested it on the dyno but i should have make somewhere around 350hp.
The engine itself was left bonestock!
just like it was when it left the factory in the late 80s
I used Megasquirt ecu, 630cc injectors and it run on E85 fuel.
The boost was on 1,2bar.
i did a 12,36 sec run at Mantorp park.
And alot of playtime to!
That was last year and i feel that i would like to keep building on this car.
The Ford V6 engine was great fun to drive and it worked awesome all summer long!
But you get to confident with 350hp after some time
Thats why i will change the engine for this year....
Since i like Ford and cause it is a Ford engine i chose to run on a Cosworth V6 with 24valve heads, called BOB.
The plan is to left the bottom end stock, except a rebuild with new gaskets and bearings and so on.
I bought a scorpio cosworth and keept everything i need.
The engine worked well before i took it out.
The engine somehow had som damage inside.
I couldn´t find any signs of other damage done to other parts.
A stock piston made by Mahle.
All 6 of them
I wonder if they´ll handle almost 100hp each
The stock plenum looks rubbish, so ill build a new one in aluminium.
Will also build a own fuelrail, exhaustmanifold and exhaust.
The goal is to run at least 1,5bar.
With the stock compratio of 9.7:1 the first thing that goes should be the headgaskets so to fix that i will o-ring the block and run on E85 fuel.
That and a good map should hold it togheter.
Alot of change´s will also be done on the car.
I will put in a full rollcage, new seats, hydralic e-brake etc.
But first i have to fix the RUST
Thats it for now !

Thnx you guys!
Okey so i keept going with the rear end this time.
You can se wich one who´s got the most "activity" right now
Iv´e planed to run on a Scorpio Cosworth rear end with a welded 7,5" diff.
The benefits are many the way i se it.
The axel is bigger and seems more steady then the stock from Sierra.
It also has bigger bolts to the hubs wich was a problem last year.
I manage to cut off many of the old ones after all driving.
It also has bigger driveshafts
The Cosworth V6 is based on the stock Ford V6 called cologne.
It has other pistons from Mahle and the block itself is reinforced by cosworth
The standard cologne 12v cylinderblock
The 12v
The Cosworth engineblock
Some other pics
Hehe "dä bara spinner, wooootschhh!!!"

Pretty much all of the car is in bits and pieces right now.
I just got picked up my new gearbox of choice.
It is a Bmw M3 E36 ZF, wich is a pretty stable one
I took of the housing from the Scorpio Cosworth automatic gearbox
and if everything works out fine, the gearbox should be welded next week.
The panel wich may be flocked

So i keept the flow in the garage.
The inside of the car is cleaned from paint and so on.
Before the welding of the rollcage begins i will weld the old rust on the floor with new good plates.
The gearbox is also welded, nice job done!
I picked up two nice packages last week.
Plenty of stuff to build a "killer"
Here the engine is fitted on test with the gearbox.
I don´t need to mod the gearboxtunnel wich is nice!

1,2 bar on E85 fuel should be safe on a good standard engine.
The only problem i got by the end of the summer was probably a broken headgasket or the intakegasket... but that was expected after all the abuse i gave it...lots of revlimiter and launch control.
Can you stay away from that, and i think a conversion like this could run forever!
Compare to a turbocharged 8v sohc "pinto" this conversion on a 12v v6 is superior!

Okay, so it´s been awhile since my last update.
Got some pics to show, let´s se !
I have mounted powerflex bushes in the front.
Alos mounted the Coilovers in front with new bushes and new bearing
The rear beam bushes doesn´t fit on the Granada coswort rear axle wich i planned to use at first, so i think im gonna put back the stock rearaxle again with the beambush changed
The Granada Cosworth rearbeam.
The 5-bolted Granada hubs in front. i will put new bearings in those.
Also been working 3-4 days straight with the floor.
Had no mig welder... but after a few weeks i got one.
I bought thread and gas then started on the floor.
Modified the frontspoiler just a little for the intercooler
I also build this gearboxmount
Here´s the H-beam to the rollcage
The engineblock and both tops has been delivered to a tuner.
I should get it by the end of Mars
