Default Dragunov's Focus II

My previous car a Ford Orion 1.4GL broke his front suspension and got a red car during the yearly control (don't know how this call this in England). So I bought a nearly new car, cause the old one was 18 years

So it became Ford Focus II 2005 Trend 1.6 TDCi 109HP, color: Aquarius Blue, with 39.000km:

How I bought the car:

First changes I did:

Next thing, a Ford-logo on rear window:

Next thing I did is going retro with placing GT stripes on the car:

Bought some shoulderpads from an American:

Alot of updates, but busy with changing the car since April 2008, so I changed the original airfilter for one of K&N, don't have pic of filter in the car, but found one on the net:

Next thing I did, changing the black mirror covers with blue ones:

Placed rubbers on the rear window, so rain doesn't get in the trunk when opening it:

Holder for sunglasses:

Wednesday 19th November 2008, I did some changes to exterior and interior of the car:

- Placed new interior light with reds LEDs:

- Changed orange bulbs to Silvervision ones:

- Cleaned up the back of the car:

Tuesday 2nd December 2008, I placed OEM alu pedals:

Saturday 6th December 2008, I place OEM alu shift knob:

I also tried to take a pic of the blue LEDs shining on the alu pedals (all pics are taken with mobile phone):

For New Year 2008-2009, I got some original floormats with alu Focus logo from my girlfriend, I made them already dirty  :

Saturday 24th January 2009, I received my new original Ford rims in 18":

Friday 20th February 2009, I placed my new handbrake handle, took a while, cause I also needed a new knob for it, instead of the original grey one, I bought a new handle with an alu colored knob, just took the knob and placed in the old handle:

Monday 2nd March 2009, the new rims were placed on car:

Wednesday 4th March 2009, placed cover plate on engine:

Friday, 13th March, changed the rear wiper to the facelift model:

OLD ONE:

NEW ONE:

Wednesday 8th April, I changed my smoglight, to an English one with white instead of red and placed a red bulb behind it:

The bulb:

EU 2421R
Natural color Red bulb, BA15S 12V 21W 2p/c

A pic with the red bulb illuminated:

Made second hole in the Franco rear attachement to bumper (word?):

Monday, 8th June 2009, changed alot of exterior stuff:

First:

During the changes:

DONE!!!:

Friday 3th July 2009, someone from The Netherlands and member of Focusclub did visit me with the rokerspack:

Tuesday 7th July 2009, changed the windshield film (word?) to one of Foliatec:

OLD ONE:

NEW ONE:

Tuesday 14th July 2009, the rokerspack was placed in car:

Thursday 13th August, placed new front on my car:

Friday 25th September 2009, new grill mounted onto car:

Old one:

Without:

New one:

Also changed the orange bulbs on the front to Philips Silvervion:

Thursday 1th October 2009 I could get my car, cause the day before I left my car at the dealer to place sideskirts on it:

Monday 5th October 2009, I ordered my winter tires:

Vredestein Snowtrac3

Tuesday 6th October 2009, I notice something weird with my license plate, the holder did break in the morning, so I bought a new one, this time in chrome, instead of a black one:

Thursday 12th November 2009, winter tires on car:

Friday 13th November 2009, I bought some real shampoo for car instead of Turtle Wax:

Monday 16th November 2009, I received package from The Netherlands, I bought a automatic dimming rear mirror for in a car, came out of a Focus II:

Tuesday 17th November 2009, dealer and I placed some extra wiring to attach the mirror, the rear driving signal, the power cable and the ground:

Friday 20th November 2009, colored the windscreen and placed the little foot on the windscreen with some glue to glue a window in a car:

Wednesday 25th November 2009, the rear mirror placed in car:

Thursday 26th November 2009, bought a Meguiars Water Magnet:

Saturday 9th January 2010, I went to Skytune to place my exhaust under my car:

Before:

Part of his collection:

During the placement:

End result:

Saturday 17th January 2010, I took some time to clean the car:

Some Close-Ups:

Monday 25th Januari 2010, I went to dealer to place an OEM arm rest console on my car, I found on the old forum of Focusowners the howto and gave this idea,

Old one:

During the works:

New one:

Friday 29th January I bought some Meguiars ScratchC 2.0:

This morning (Monday 21st June 2010) at 8.30h I was expected at my local Ford dealer to place those Eibach springs. But I know u prefer pics over alot of words, sooooo.....

BEFORE:

DURING:

AFTER:

Wednesday 14th July 2010, I made some pics of how the car looks after a couple of weeks on his Eibach springs:[/b]

Friday 13th August 2010 I went to my local dealer to place the radio, some pics:

Mpnday 23rd August 2010

- Ford, Ford, Ford ...

They sent me the incorrect papers for the springs, numbers on springs don't match numbers on paper, so I need to go again to our control center in Belgium (http://www.goca.be)...

- All filters are replaced and new oil...

- Also litte cracks in my V-belt, so needed another one too

- Also noticed the support of exhaust just behind cat was broken too, so needed new one too

- And installed AUX plug in the glovedepartement (WORD?), cables were already foreseen

Monday 30th August 2010

- Placed new V-belt, but not enough time to place the new stronger support for the exhaust, cause we had to deattach the exhaust from the cat to the first connection

Monday 6th September 2010

- Went to my local dealer to fix the support of the exhaust

- The front and back have a new FORD logo aswell

- Also changed the little plate in the EGR, so now I have an inox one with a little hole of 5mm

- Last thing I did, actually asked, info about the switch to deactivate the passengers airbag, I already had all the FINIS codes. But need to say this to your insurrance too...
Every cable is already in the car, so u just need to buy the switch, the control lamp and attach the car to the computer to activate this feature in airbag module

Wednesday 8th September 2010

Bought an USB charger on Ebay with the help of my good friend skyflyer of Fordclub:

Pic of skyflyer:

Friday 10th September 2010

Went to my local dealer to place the switch and control lamp, but he couldn't activate the module, so I had to make an appointment with the main dealer, so they could activate the feature...

Some pics (not quite clear, phone pics):

Wednesday 15th September 2010

Went to the main dealer to activate the extra feature, not alot of work, just attach their laptop to my car, and start the program, and just activate the feature in the program and press OK.

So in glove department I can now use my key to set the switch on ON, no lamp is burning in dash or set the switch on OFF, control lamp is burning in dash

- Also bought K&N cleaner and oil on my way back:

Tuesday 21st September 2010:

Reeived a package from Hong Kong:

USB-charger for in car!

At least someone who appreciates the stuff I do and the effort I make to write it down in decent English (almost decent )

Friday 1st October 2010 I went to Puype in Torhout for wheel allignment, my local dealer told it was not quite necessary to do it and just wait what they would say during control in control center (how is this called in England, English?), but I saw on their PC it was NECESSARY

Some pics I made, didn't want to make pics of all the stuff in red

Had a look on the tracking status of my make uplights, and it was still the same:

Thursday 7th October 2010 I had another look and still the same, I already became impatient till I heard the postman, I had a look and saw him nearing our house, very patiently I awaited the doorbell and opened the door, after putting my signature, he gave me the packet:

Same evening I had another look to the status, and it did change:

Took them apart to clean them, some dirt and brown glue on them

------------------------------------------

Today (Wednesday 13th October 2010) I drove to my local dealer to do some stuff:

- Modifying the bottom of those triangle in front of the mirror, my door did touch it and already some paint of door
- Placing of umbrella holder
- Placing other door on glove department
- Placing make up lights

... and everything was a big succes, except the pics token with my camera on phone, I already removed most of the pics of it:

Drawing the cutting line:

Cutting:

Piece of the ceiling:

Making new wires:

Protecting the interior a bit during solder:

THE FIRST ONE:

Second cable to hole on the right:

END RESULT!

The yellow u see is the Pilot LED (took those of the trunk, so need some new ones overthere)

Holder for umbrella:

Wedsnesday 20th October 2010, I put some LEDs in the car:

Some more pics with the Pilot LEDs:

Monday 18th April 2011, my local garagist and I fitted the bulbs in the mirror

Some pics:

Demounting the mirror:

Garagist has a look on the forum how to proceed:

Changing the wires:

Without the door:

One side mounted:

Some pics of the result:

Tuesday the 14th Juin 2011 went to my local garagist to place the new headlights:

Difference between old and new:

One headlight done:

Pics of both headlights mounted:

Saturday 18th Juin 2011 back to garage to fix the regulation of the controlling the hight of the headlights

The little plug attached to the big one:

Busy with getting some isolation around the wiring

Both sides done:

Left:

Right:

Done:

Broken original Ford Intercooler:

New Airtec Intercooler:

New hoses, tubes,...:

Old Intercooler was broken, so alot of grease and such, so only solution:

Airtec Intercooler placed:

Latest changes made:

On 11th September 2012 I made some pics of latest changes made to the car:

Climair:

Some of the make a ST or a RS out of the Focus, I make a Francorchamps out of it:

Went to DHL Gullegem myself, cause we saw a paper in the mailbox, we didn't hear the courier at all, strange:

DHL building at Gullegem:

Received the package and that's how it did look like:

Package and bill:

Close-up of bill (a little bit too small on pic, I know!):

Superchips did a superb job too protect the box with the Bluefin unit:

The BOX:

Content:

Content includes the CD-ROM, manual, a sticker and of course the Bluefin unit with the necessary cables (EOBD and USB)!

Wednesday 17th October 2012 I bought a new antenna, so no longer those LOOOOOONG one of Ford, I had to cut a little bit at the base of it, cause I didn't fit in first instance, but now it works quite well:

Nice attention to detail.

Taken a rather bland looking car and made it look very smart. Not to keen on the stripes, but then again I never have been on any ford.

Nice project, lots of little changes have made a big difference. Do you have any more plans for it?

Not ususally my thing but I really like what you have done. All seems thought out, not rushed and all done properly and well documented. You obviously love the car a lot! Keep up the good work!
