I know what you mean about the sixth gear, doesn't help the fuel consumption one bit. But your always on cam if you want to do a quick overtake, at least you don't have to drop a gear.
Good luck with yours.

JAMES : Time Passes So Quickly.... LOL, But great news on your progress, you can't believe how much I'm looking forward to see her completed and one day seeing my old baby in the flesh again.
Either of those wheels will honestly look great, the RL's will suit it perfectly, but there's an early (B5) Audi S4 running around with those wheels on the right, it looks stunning.
Think you'll have to actually try them both one the car when it's finished and then decide.
All the best with the re spray and getting her back on the road.
Keep us updated.

Come on James...... Updates Needed ! ! !
My Audi mods are now fully completed.
Fully rebuilt engine with modified inlet manifold, JHMotorsports Remap, Full Decat, Full Miltek Exhaust System, ECS Suspension, BBS Motorsport Wheels, and 384bhp. Absolutely love it, as it's as mint as my old cosworth was (G88 NMW), it's taken me a year and a good wedge of dosh to get it to where I am now. Underside pics to follow, all suspension components were stripped, when engine and gearbox were out, steam cleaned and three weeks hard cleaning work.
Pictures working backwards........ Latest First.
Now it's your turn for an update....................

No.... This is the S4 not the RS4....... Poor Mans RS4.... lol.
The good thing is that the S4 doesn't have the same EGR set up, so you don't get coke build up in the inlets.
S4 puts out 340BHP In standard form BUT 410 NM Of Torque ! ! ! and the engine mods will have increased that from standard.

Perfection takes time......
Look forward to seeing the pics.
Audi has come on really well. Have spent a wedge on it, but it's one of those cars you can drive hard all day and it can take it.

Yep, anything else than a plug change or cam cover seal and you have take the front of the car off, bumper, Grill, Lights etc, but they all come off in one piece so not too bad. After that most things are ok to get too, with the exception of the timing chains, they're at the back of the block ! ! ! ! So if you need to replace tensioners or guides, then it's an engine out job. Luckily they last about 80k, so not something you should need to do regularly.
As an engine, everything's pretty standard ........ Until you get to the timing chains (Four of them) and numerous tensioners and guides + variable inlet cam timing too, then it gets to the point where you want six hours without anyone disturbing you..... LOL.

Hahaha...... You never give up ....... LOL.
I'm just in the process of deciding my new purchase to replace the Audi. Looking at BMW M5's (2007/2008) or Mercedes C63 AMG (2008/2009/2010). Need that 500bhp again.
Keep us updated, even if you pump the tyres up, that'll be something....LOL.
Regards Jim

Haha..... I'm getting the picture. I retire in six years, so I'll have some time to help James put it back together.
We'll all probably be riding in jet powered cars and popping to the moon and back before he's finished it.

Well...... Onward and Upward.
After having the Audi for two years, it was time to make a move and have to admit that I've fallen in love with V8's.
So, after driving the M3 and the Mercedes C63 AMG it was a hard choice, but the M3 is the better track car and the C63 is the better road car and also accelerates noticeably quicker. So I bought the Mercedes.
Awesome and without doubt the best car I've ever owned. Three years old, 30k miles from new, full MB Service History and one previous owner....... Oh, and Eurocharged 520bhp and 485lbs Torque.

Hi Pete
M3 (V8) v C63 AMG..... Such a shame Mercedes & BMW didn't do a joint venture, M3 with the AMG 6.3, what a fantastic car that would be, fantastic light alloy engine in a great chassis.
Yes, the M3 handles better and probably so does a mini cooper, but the C63 is about power and torque and easily out accelerates the M3 and is on par with the E60 M5. It's a thunderous all round performer that's pretty good at everything. On a technical track, the M3 would come in first, but a track with good straights and it would be the M5 (E60) or C63. For the road.......... I think I made the right choice, taking into account more than just the power....... Servicing Costs, Parts Prices, Depreciation, Build Quality, Creature Comforts, etc etc
The way I looked at it is I probably do one maybe two track days a year, but I go out driving every weekend. The comfort factor came into it too, the C63 has a good interior with all the creature comforts and the engine torque is fantastic.
9mpg, you were doing well......LOL.
Handling on roads I find pretty good, but it has pretty new Pirelli's all round and once they're warmed up I find them as good as my old E39 M5, so for it's size I'm happy. Just love the acceleration though and I always was a bit of a straight liner....LOL.
It's got the Eurocharged re-map done in November last year and that's at least 520bhp, they quote up to 540bhp if the cats are removed, i'll remove just the secondary cats though, which I'll be doing real soon, but they assure me it's at least 520bhp on stock exhaust system which is an Eismann it, which are stock.
Brakes ..... Amazing, never had a car that stops like this.
My dream car was always a BMW E60 M5, I'd always wanted one since they first came out and it was my plan to buy one this time, but after driving one, my dream was shattered. You have to keep them above 5k otherwise there's just no torque, SMG is horrible in town and harsh when your giving it some. A real disappointment after wanting one for years. Also hard to find a low mileage good example compared to the C63 where there's plenty of low mileage examples if your willing to pay the price.
God I do waffle on don't I....................LOL
Are you back in an EVO..... ????

Haha..... They're all keepers.
First car I've got no plans to change anything.......... well a decat on the secondary cats, but THAT'S IT.
How's G88 coming on........??

Yes...... Apparently so. "Eurocharged" are the Mercedes performance specialists and they state 520 minimum with stock exhaust system and up to 540 with full decat, i'll just do the secondary decat which should give somewhere in between. But they certainly seem to know their stuff.
C63 AMG was deliberately de-tuned electronically as the identical engine is fitted in the E63 AMG and they couldn't have the C63 being a faster car than the next model up. Been researching them for a few weeks.
