Ford CVH engine in Puma - Project
Hi guys, new to the forum.
Been looking about for a while for information on the CVH turbo engine and found some info. but need a bit more help if possible.
Have CVH turbo engine now installed in engine bay, but looking for info. on wiring the ECUs. I have the loom from the previous owner and also the original puma loom and ecu, but need to sort out the wiring to get the beast running.....
Has anyone done this conversion before? Heeeelllllp!...
Cheers guys - Baz.

fuck off the mfi and get efi, loads easier, the loom with almost plug and play (both are engine looms and you can replug etc your into the cars)
everything else is frst tank and pump, managment from frst and turbo can be t3 with the rad is nudged, much better all round with efi
beware bleeding the clutch, any air will fuck the slave and its a sod to change again huh

Efi head
Efi flywheel and block adapting for CPS
Efi inlet
Efi ecu and loom
Map sensor and co pot
Charge carrier
check your block. if its a 89 onward, it will most likely have a CPS hole already.
hope this helps

its just sooooo much hassle
meterhead and all its crap ecu's etc and all those wires
an efi job can easily be done ina day and look factory
an mfi job will always look like a rats nest and have problems
you can do it many ways
i would always build up a zvh because even the cheap throw together ones are good on power and better than an old cvh
1.8 zetec bottom end with a cvh efi head + zvh kit
t3 turbo
frst managment
then the usual cooler, rad, pipe etc
all done for under 500 quid and you alreayd have teh box etc that will be fine
theres the same amount of work to fit wether its cvh or zvh but a little more work on a cheaper engine
you can still use all your oil feed etc from the mfi

dude theres a fair bit going wrong here
i think you can use an escos or frst fuel pump being 'in-tank' pumps (frst pump housings have 'turbo' on a sticker on them)
an erst fuel pump pushes and doesnt suck so you cant mount it above the fuel level so i think puma fuel filters sit infront and above fuel tank/level

my advise has to be sell the lot and start over im afraid
if you engine is 90 spec you will have a hole in the block going thru to the flywheel
which helps as you can fit an efi flywheel and cps (in the hole) and use your bottom end but by the time you do taht you will put about Ł50 into a headset and bolts that could have bought you a zetec bottom end then you will still need an efi head unless you want to spend about than the cost of an efi head on adapters (which could mean the inlet hits things)

Got started on my wiren loom. striped everthing i didnt need off.
so i was left with 2 ecu.s and 2 relay.s and my sensor plugs.
It was lookin good so pluged it all in, got the booster pack on to it.
the fuel pump was on,
BUT NOT. sparkin
back to the manuals
I am lookin for any one that can help or provide a engine bay wiren loom.
