Default FIESTA COSWORTH 4x4 MK MOTORSPORT Nearly nearly rolling 9/3/13 lol

Right people ive looking on hear for ages at other peoples projects an decided to stop looking an jump in feet first an do my own project so found myself a damaged new shape fiesta 3door not much damage an is now on my drive to my girlfriends delight NOT ready to be stripped to bare shell ready for the fabrication work to begin!!!! I've been chatting to Steve from A1 RALLYSPORT an been down to his yard an he seems a bloke that knows his stuff an ime all set to drop the shell off when ive stripped the shell so he can start the fabrication work I've started collecting a few ov the basic things to get me started!!!! Ime not sure which way to go on the rear end yet as to go the wrc route or stay wiv the standard beam as things can get expensive an ive got to keep things realistic over money if any body's got a full wrc cradle set up for sale let me no. I am in need ov any help/comment on the way throu my build will put some pics on wen start stripping shell

from time to time there is some good engines for sale, you just need to watch what you buy. that engine i had for sale was a brand new rebuilt engine it had only been ran in and mapped. i didnt sell it in the end , i am fitting it to my fiesta now. in a couple of years time i will be selling it as i hope to rally the fiesta so will need a wrc engine .

yes there are lots of nice people on the site, and all you need to do is ask if you need to no something .

mk can make most parts new, mt hes a cossie rally car killer he brakes all the cars up for spares he also will be able to sort you loads of parts .

ps i sold the escort to ben gate crasher as a trimmed shell only , hes building it again .

i have only a fiesta project now.

thanks steven

how is your fiesta being done, it will all depend on cost

is it a cosworth floor pan being fitted , or is it a complete custom fab jod where the car will have custom turrets and tunnel ?
how much of a cage is being fitted ect, is it going to all suspenion pick up points .
rear beam or cradle ??

my fiesta was done to full fia spec so it can get a log book to be rallyed , thats why i used gordon vincent in essex . he done lots of the wrc escorts back in the day , and still does from time to time even still for private people .
he does lots of work for proton ,ect ect . when i was there he was starting on a evo 10 for some rally team.

ag did marcs fiesta , i priced my shell fabb work also with andy and it was in and around the same as gordon vincent , i picked gordon only because he had done lots of these for rally car spec rulles .

i never thought about steve scott at a1 .

thanks steven

I would decide what the car is going to be used for first as the wrc/grpa route is very very expensive, my own project is a mix and match of wrc/grpa and to be honest i wish i hadnt of bothered for various reasons,be prepared for let downs, stress and hair pulling. but i will finish it eventually.

Thanks Robert

As for fab work, my car is currently at AG and is spot on aswell as marc's fez, just gotta look at Andrews focos creations, Andrew can be hard to get in contact with sometimes (busy busy guy) you could try Scott he is the fabricator for AG and usually available and very helpfull.

Cant personally comment on A1 but not heard anything bad regarding them.

Without being rude mate you can think whatever you like as can I.

He may of never let you down but I can guarantee he has screwed a fair few over, in one case the £1000 ported head he fitted to my mates car which had mainly a brush over with some sandpaper instead of any actual porting, on top of that it was skimmed to death and had been dropped during assembly and they had crushed the swarf into the MLS gasket, all that on top of poorly bit engine was in my opinion a pisstake.

I have also seen a mk1 escort shell he did and it was a load of crap, the owner of it uses this forum as well and ended up having someone else finish it.

Personally my opinion is that in some cases he will turn out a good job and not mug you off, however if your like the guy wanting the fiesta done or like my mate who both are(were) new to the scene it's easy to bullshit them into either spending too much or sorting them out with not what they know is actually any good.

We all know A1 have built some good cars but knowing what I do if I had the choice it's not who I would spend my hard earned money with.

We all know A1 have built some good cars but knowing what I do if I had the choice it's not who I would spend my hard earned money with.

if it was me i would use only ag if it was to be a full on track car . i was going to use andy , as i no his work and also i like him, hes a top chap .
i only used gordon vincent as i wanted the car built to rally car spec rulles as gordon has done loads of them now.

i never even thought of a1 when starting mine .

thanks steven
