Is the ecu coded to your car ie does it have a transponder ring? If its has one and the ecu is not coded then you'll never get it going. Im sure you can buy ecu's that have this function deleted. Or even better go for aftermarket management

Hmmm...
My key has a little red transponder in it? I thought EDIS was managed outside of the ECU? The guy I bought it off had an ECU that he was swapping between all of his 1.8. I thought my engine/ECU combo was pre PATs and external EDIS? ![]() (O and the ECU I bought of eBay the 2FBC came with no transponder- I using the original key). I have the blown original ECU (which is also a 2FBC code). Last edited by kam125; 16-03-2012 at 03:49 PM. |

Updated from 25/03/2012.
He is all started up thanks to Churtz (aka Matt). Turns out the fuel regulator (FSE) was tightly shut. A few tweaks to the adjustment nipple and he started up! Next up a full service, and may be a lick of cosmetics and then track time. Kam |
