Yes, I understand this is the last year MK6, as far as I know, in Russia brought about 50 cars and all of them produced in 2008, we did not find car in 2007 or previously released. Thanks to the account of English, nice try.

I go to a simple standard autodromes tires and wheels on BF Goodrich sports, attach a photo of your wheels, wheels R15, Challenge, on normal tires I get in class "standard", and BF Goodrich tires to get into a class "absolute" and wrestle with such machines as STI and Evolution

At high engine speeds and with the active movement of the wheel sometimes met overheating power steering, fluid in the boil and poured through the lid of the tank, all accompanied by unpleasant sounds from the pump. This reduces informative steering.
** I decided to put the heatsink in the power steering system.
Gathered on the entire system hoses and fittings reinforcement
After installing the radiator problems are no longer met! This prevents the death of the pump, my comrades many times broke down due to overheating of the pump.

further use of these fittings are pictured flowed! Perhaps caught poor quality, changed them to new and it flowed again, solved the problem of reinforced fittings for hydraulic hoses, crimped on the machine and everything was working fine and tight.

JIC fittings standard

did a week ago at the car mud flaps, front all simply and quickly fastened on the screws, but the rear mud flaps had fastened to the bumper through the metal corners. Mudguards for used plastic sheet, cut out the desired size. Now the car does not get dirty so quickly and back is not in the snow.

car has standard wheels and tires 215/45/R17. These wheels are very heavy and fragile, I want to change to forged wheels measuring R15 or R16, and these leave in reserve. Improve dynamics and suspension work in Russia is not very good roads and difficult to ride on low-profile tires.

I would suggest the R16 wheel's as it allows for 300mm brakes if you don't have a massive budget, st170 disk's with mk3 mondeo calipers

this is a very interesting suggestion, thanks for the info, I'm looking at a rally-style wheels. eg compomotive or oz-racing.
choose something from this design, it's my old dream, in Russia such wheels are hard to find, but it is possible.

Put wheels R16 with further refinement of brakes is a very good idea, but for now I am fighting for the extra weight and I think that will make a choice in favor of R15

In terms of weight, I've found that there is lots to remove, air conditioning system if fitted is 10kg+
