Got me engine back yesterday, short motor assembled! So gave it a lick of paint an fitted breathers..

Then I got a bit carried away an mock fitted my cvh thermostat with a little adaptor plate, hope it works an doesn't give me water leak head aches!!

Also managed to refurb my other stat housing an fitted new temp sensors, one for gauge an tapped one up top for management..

Looks as good as new!

Pretty much ready to put the engine all back together now!
Exciting times! Jus need the bloody shell back!!

So that's another job ticked off! Dropped a box of bits off to be blasted an re zinced/powder coated, they should be back shortly!
Also managed to get some 17" softlines, fully refurbished an some new Pirelli tyres so happy with that!

Got the lockset from eBay I think! Would of used me old ones but I think every lock was a different key!!

Anyway, jus picked up a few bits I've had blasted, electro zinc coated an then powder coated! First up is me anti roll bar mounts, already had these powder coated an the dreaded rust started to come thru in the house! Wasn't happy with that an bein really anal it woulda bugged me! So had them re blasted, then zinc coated first, will be powder coated silver again then!

Have you had to cut the inner wing to get the gearbox in?

I've just got my zetec turbo cabrio on the road and I think the gearbox is on borrowed time already, lol

Thanks, didn't think it would take this long tbh! Thought it'd be on the road by now, but the paint job is starting to annoy me! Still waitin 15 months on, house looks like a ford parts dept, bits an boxes in nearly every room!

Get a thread of your restoration up! Love readin an lookin at other peoples projects!

Yeah I read a bit about gearboxes goin bang which is why I went mtx whilst doin my restoration. I had to cut the inner wing yeah, can see it in the pic but it's still close! Wasn't nothin scary tho, there's bout 3 skins there, think I cut thru 2 of them, then kinda boxed it off an gave it a skim of filler to tidy it up! I read a thread on here explain what to do an went for it!
