Default Start of a new chapter

Well at long last I have my hands on a fiesta, its a 3 door, 1.3 (not zetec) 2000 reg In green

Bought it off my mum for not alot, only done 25000 miles from new so is mechanically sound

The plan over the next year is to retrim the interior as its the basic spec, adding better dials, covering the dash, soundproofing etc etc

Also add a set of Nice looking alloys, nothing tacky as I cannot stand that, a set of Zetec S bumpers and fill in all the dents obtained from carparks and my mums bad driving lol

By this time (filling in the dents lol) most of the car will be prepped for a respray (in another colour) which will be done, not complete as its going to be fully carpeted inside and the engine will remain the original so the bonnet will be kept shut

Soon as I hit 21 and my insurance goes down a little, Puma engine will be fitted

Other things that I will be doing is rear disc conversion (will need help on whats the best bits to use), Stiffen the suspension up as its not good enough at the moment

I will be retaining the seats and trim as its an everyday car, commuter, but will look around for a set of leather or bucket seats to fit, however choice is limited as I will still be carrying passengers

So here she is, please dont laugh

Work will commence on the car soon as my mum picks up her new motor on wednesday

Cheers mate, Its my first ford/modern car build so its a learning curve more than anything, Im just finishing rebuilding my Landrover which loos to be simple compared to this, I feel I can do everything apart from wiring, not sure why but I hate it, and almost scared of setting myself or my car on fire!

I will be asking advice on Budget Brake and handling sets ups as its only a commuter car and Im a poor council worker

Ive spent today yes the whole of today cleaning it, makes its much nicer to work on if the engine bay is squeaky clean, Ohh and I have taken off the spare wheel and carrier, it weighed a bloody tonne

I will be lightening it some areas Ie taking the spare wheel off etc etc but wont be taking out carpets etc etc

Next on the list is a set of lighter seats that also fold forward, Alloy wheels, and perspex rear quarter windows

Also would like to find a nice replacement steering wheel, I don't care about loosing the airbag to be honest lol

Ohh and I am open to advice and critism, as I said its all a learning curve and its all being done on a budget for example carbon fibre on the roof, it wont be real as I cant afford it etc etc

Cool little project is it your first road car?

I'd put on Zetec S bumpers, lower it and escos wheels. What colour are you thinking? I'd do it in Mallard green

- Zetec S Bumpers, Grill, Spoiler and Skirts
- Black Headlights casings with Ambers Retained
- Jewel Violet Respray
- Anthracite 16" Comp TH or Comp MO6
- 40-60mm lowered on Coilovers
- 300mm front brake conversion
- Rear brake conversion, IIRC the ZSOC boys use Focus parts?
- Sports backbox with 3 or 3.5" tailpipe
- RS Turbo Recaro seats, rear bench and door cards trimmed to match
- Decent punchy little soundsystem

Get in and enjoy it.

Cheers,
Grant

Its not my first car I have a Landrover Defender which Ive been driving for a year and a half, but in theory its my first normal road car

As for colours, I do quite like gun metal grey, black and the cossie green which someone has mentioned on here and I think that the comp TH's look mint, but cant quite afford those lol

At the moment its just deciding what I want to do with it, I have always hankered after a Mk1 Focus RS replica or something along those lines so not sure whether I should start throwing my wallet at the fiesta or just get it looking a little better for a few months ( wheels and pull the dents out lol) then sell it and get myself a focus to throw cash at instead as once ive bought a focus, I doubt I will be getting rid of it anytime soon

Decisions decisions

I did think about keeping it an buying a focus to build up, then when its finished sell the fiesta

If I decide to keep the fiesta then wheels will be the first on the list as whats fitted is shocking If the fiesta and the focus have the same stud pattern then I may look into getting a set of COMP TH's as thats the wheels I have on me focus too
