Default Need some help and advice for my potential project RS170

Hi folks i need your help quite badly, im seriously considering converting my RS1800 Fiesta with a full ST170 set up. I know i might be hated by a few but the conversion seems a pretty good idea 2 me.
But i need 2 know whats involved and a few details about the engine.
Does the ST engine have a Variable Inlet Cam?
What do i need 2 do about the drive shafts and gear linkage?
What engine mounts would i need?
Is the exhaust manifold on the front or the back of the engine?
Will i need the Focus wiring loom or a custom made loom?
If i machine the original RS1800 inlet manifold 2 match the inlet ports on the ST head will the stud patterns match?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The ST170 has bopth variable inlet cam and also the manifold so i would sugest not ditching the manifold. The bolt pattern is the same as with regular zetecs, but the ports are bigger. Also, If you were to ditch the manifold, you can use a part of it as its a two piece item, just google a little, and look at toher peoples st170 projects. Also Bik ITBs are comon mods on this.

The exhaust manifold is on the front of the engine and is a 4 branch one as standard so probably worth keeping. As already said the inlet manifold has runners in it which give it the extra power from 5500rpm so worth keeping that also. Im pretty sure to fit the getrag 6 speed box out of a st170 it would require no end of fabrication work etc but Id probably ask someone whos done it for info on this as Im not sure, would depend on the box as to which drive shafts your gunna use Id say
