Default First car/project mk2 fiesta: Suspension Bits

Hi, my name is jed and I am 16 years old, A few weeks ago me and my dad travlled from fife to stoke on trent to collect A mk2 fiesta1.1 popular plus in rosso red.

Here are some pictures of the car on the trailer once we got down there.

And some pics one we got it back home.

First thing we got rid of was the wheel trims and that black stripe down the side.

The following week I cleaned underneath the car and in the arches

Had the car on a ramp for waxoil. We found some rust

Here is a pic of the inner sill

and a pic of the inner wing

I bought a RST interior this week, The passenger seat is good

That will be the new drivers seat.

The old drivers seat is in a pretty poor condition so will be used to retrim the doorcards.

I also had it detailed.

Eventually the car will be turbocharged, porbaly spooled by a zetec.

I refuse to cut the front panel to fit an intercooler so the turbo shall be mounted here.

That has to be the cleanest mk2 I've seen for a long time. Surely there are better ways around sorting the space issue than rear mounting the turbo?

I would have prefered a mk3/4 escort but there impossible to find

A rear mounted turbo is that much of a problem, it seemed to be the best option i could think off

Its definitely a clean shell

A Cossie turbo and a thin front mount fan will sort the clearance issues at the front. Its not that hard when you get into it. Just take your time

I have thought of anouther solution for the intercooler, I will see if it will fit next time im out at the car.

Its going to be a long project so nothing will be rushed.

You have probaly gathered from my username i was the one emailing you today . I only took that photo to see what peoples reaction would be (although i did research it and considor a remote mounted turbo).

I have though of a much simpler solution

Dont know if you remember but you set up the s2 in the pics above and below.

Well today I collected my new drivers seat.

I got exited and decide to fit it.

That ment dragging the car out its house

Here are some pics of the original interior

Swapping the runners from the stock seat to the recaro should have been an easy job.

However since I was trying to do it in the drivers footwell while it was raining and dark it was tricky.

I got there in the end.

I also got some pics of the engine, all 55bhp of it.

I will fit the passenger recaro next week.

I went too fit the other recaro today and i discovered that I have two different doorcards

I am now looking for a pair of grey mk2 doorcards, the ones with no pattern on them just grey vinyl. If any one has them PM me.

I did get the seat fitted aswell.

I also got one of my wheels back from sand blasting.

Last week I bought a pair of the door cards that I wanted, So I fitted them today

Before

After

To begin with I wanted xr2 door cards but I started to like the very basic look the interior would have with poverty spec door cards.

These were the best ones as they have no pattern on them to clash with the seats.

I tried to fit A RS 3 spoke steering wheel with a mk3 fiesta boss after reading that it might fit.

But it didnt

If ANYONE has the correct boss to fit a rs steering wheel to a mk2 fiesta please get in touch ASAP.
