Still budget but got to clean the iner floor pans lol

Not to great at wiring but though **** it, I'll do as much as I can before me mate Martin can get over.<br><br>Scarey loom lol

Got lots of it plumbed into where it should locate in the car...

<br><br>

Noticed battery tray has had some dodgy repares in the past..

Got all located but noticed I havent got the dash board loom in it? have to go back to lock up and check no RS loom bits left there.

Got this that was in the van but looks different to RS loom as this goes into fuse box and does seem to be space for it to on the RS fuse box, will have to get Martin to look into it for me.

Ignore my post about fitting the RS servo now lol

I went to swap the resevoir off of the van one onto the van one as van is non ABS and noticed all I had to do with the van one is turn it up side down

Text Ash aswell as he was about to get an RS servo for his van too.

Also noticed more bodge

The matrix pipes -

So removed them and going to get the RS ones before scrap, lucky as was gona scrap it today.

But them benieth all the bodge I found a bodge that gob smacked me lol

Inline fuel pump and filter bolted horrifcly under the van -

Removed -

Then is it just me or have they wired it up backwards???

More soon as it started to rain and its on my drive don't forget lol

Duno tbh always thought it could as been on weigh bridges and checked by vosa in the past whilst towing escorts.

But then had a few people on forums say it shouldnt be able to, not to bothered tbh as towed with it for 4 years and never had any bother by plod etc

Audi A4 or A6 next year for me so shouldnt have any questions over the towing capacity laws.

But here is other opinions on the answer to your question -

How much does the trailer weigh?

I reckon you're alright with 150-200kg to spare to be honest.

Haven't got a clue Mike mate, it's a twin wheel base Woodford tilt bed 14 footer, had a Brian James one @ 16ft but changed to this as 16ft was massive!

well, the previous loom pics may have looked scarey, look at this interior loom pmsl

BTW, wifes at work and sons at sleep over and daughters upstairs whaching some vampire crap, that's how I have gotten away with doing this in my living room LOL

To start with full loom with a fooked TOAD alarm fitted into it.

Removed.

All untangled.

I can see in the van there is a rear loom coming forward that I already have plugged strate into the fuse box.

But I don't think the van has correct fuel pump wiring and neither have I seen a fuel cut off switch in the van.

I can get my head around all of the above a bit, but going to wate now for my mate Martin to come and help me plumb it back in.

Also ordered a new battery tray last night because the van one is totaly fooked and leeking through the bulk head, me and Sam will weld that in asap too.

Half the battle is just having the bottle to have a go at the wiring ya self lads lol

Cheers Glenn, coincidencde you should say it's getting looked after now lol

Remember the first pics of the van inside, minging.

Went out today to look at wiring in the back lights area and fuel pump etc and couldnt see much due to all the boarding in the van so I ripped it all out.

Which then led to my OCD kicking in a cleaning the van inside

Found some surfacxe rust in area, mainly where the luguage strap bars are on the floor, there are six of them.

But all tiday and loaded back up now with convertion parts.

Also been busy as had to remove front strut off of my ST complete with hub as hub bolt snapped last week when attempting to remove, going to my mates garage tomorrow to drill the bugger out!

If your gona go to trouble of engine change pal I myself have chosen RS2000 because I can build um with my eyes shut but would recommend one for any one as theyre great engines out the box,

RST and his dad Rizzla on here has a build thread which is fantastic, what made me decide to make one mate -

https://passionford.com/forum/restor...ew-wheels.html

The tank I think I am leaning towards buying from ebay @ £130

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PETROL-TAN...item4cf04cf062

Wiring is better if you have a donar car to remove from imo as then you know you've got everything you need and you know the ECU and fuse boxes are correct for the car as they vary a lot.

RST is very helpfull and shouldnt think he'd mind you PMing him but if I can help with anything else just ask away bud.

Kev.

Kev trust me on this do not buy from them I paid for the tank i needed i got a phone call a day later saying there's a problem with my order. They said that the roof collapsed and squashed the fuel tank I needed. I said ok when can you get them in and the reply i got was they cant and refunded my money there and then.

I bought this
http://secure.fueltanksdirect.co.uk/...-388-125-p.asp

Good quality and fast delivery i paid £130 for mine though so looks like they have had a price drop.

In the end I didn't use it but my mate did on his rs2k van hes reported no problems

Cheers for that info bud, I also got a quote yesterday for £70 from local parts shop but got to go back and check it this week, if no good I'll get the one in that link

I can't find on the web the weight of the van compared to an escort but I don't think it would be much heavier and buy looking at mine now I'd guess it was probably lighter at the back end than an escort so they should go well with any convertion away from a deisel I think.

Well hoping

I had them all put away and cleaned up before she got home from work mate

The hub I got drilled yesterday and replaced the drop links also, bottom arms on it replaced last week and tbh it's a joy to drive again now, like having a new car.

No one expects it to be such a good car but when people have been in it they are really surprised.

I wanted to get rid for an Audi next year but now it's on form again I may keep another 12 months and have few holidays insted

After a lad on RS2K forum offered to sell a set of suitable door cards but then got greedy and decided to keep them so they'd go up in value pmsl

I decided I needed to find a set, so I did!

4 door Si door cards with matching raven flow to RS interior, rare as rocking horse shit but I managed to find a set.

Sorry pics are crap.

Will look mint inside now!
