Race-Tech Honda Civic Race Car. UPDATE
As you probably guessed i'm into my Hondas. Heres a few pictures of the latest incarnation of my Civic.
Some previous pictures here,
Here
New colour under the engine bay.
The complete front end can be removed with 4 bolts. Makes for much easier access and saved 16kg's.
Subframe bolted in, we were going to make a tubular subframe with new steering rack, but we've had to cut a few corners or it'll never get finished!
Few pic's (ignore the light its not fastened in) Still waiting for the carbon front bumper and wider wings.
The front end in place.
Ignore the rusty hubs, the new ones are been machined to accept much bigger driveshafts.
Ready for the engine.
Front end removed
Engine in (fastest ever)
Manifold and turbo on

Screamers on internal wastegates aren't ideal so as you say it'll be a good move. Power should be around the 400 mark, the max that version of the turbo kit will do really, they provide great spool and amazing midrange torque though

Ricky...interesting build there...will follow with great interest!
Out of curiosity, im looking to do a turbocharged EG or EK Civic...is there one you recommend over the other?
Im also completely wide open to which engine to use...Ideally I would like anywhere between 450-550hp and it be a nice revving monster...even if it was built for 500hp in mind and we toned it down for road use (yeah right!)...
Any advice you could give would be awesome mate and help me out a great deal

The EK should have less corrosion, (although there generally good underneath anyway, just the arches what go)
We've built loads at around 500hp, they go really well.

Eg for the win! (although owning one I may be a bit biased) better aerodynamics, much nicer dash IMHO, obd1 and as Ricky said lightweight...an amazing car for the money they go for just watch out for that rot...it's everywhere!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
love what you have done with the front end.
p-s how do you get the oil return from the turbo back to the sump with it sitting so low? small pump ?

No honestly the turbo is around 50mm higher than the sump where the oil level would sit. Being a roller bearing, they run a tiny restrictor, we just made sure the return is plenty big enough. I've had another setup years ago about the same height and didn't have a problem. I hate added complications. (might sound odd looking at it). But I like to keep things as simple as possible adding a pump is just asking for something else to break.

It is higher, but not by a massive amount. I made the manifold over a year ago now. I'd probably change a couple of small bits, but at the time I was "rushing" i then decided not to bother and left it for over a year before starting again recently.

A few updates
Big hole for the first part of the diffuser/tank/floor.
Whats going to fill the hole.
Painted the floor.
Hardly the pinacle fo comfort but at 3.8kg's inc the mounts who cares.
Carbon door getting dirty!
New driveshafts
CV's are much bigger than the OE items!
Still got the pedal box to mount, cage and harness bar's to do along with tonnes of other stuff.
