Saving 2 RST's or "Rusty Shitty Tins"
Evening all,
Newbie to this site

How to start, son's go on Euro trip and plough around Nuerburgring. Come back home, youngest turns around and says "have a bit of cash and fancy project, old man" !
What do you say to that ? ok son, what do you fancy ?
See you had a RST when you were young, what was it like?

So next thing on driveway is a E plate S2 RST. Face value @ 20 yards looks nice as they all do ! At 5 yards looks OK " a little elbow gease" and then for the moment of truth !!!!!!!! lift up the carpet and what do we see ??? you have guessed "The ground", through lets say more holes than swiss cheese. Oh well son
it's a project after all

Son undeterred calls best friend (trainee mechanic) and away they go stripping to their hearts content.
At this point
Dad.....it was bit rusty this one ! can you see if we can get a better shell?
See one advertised with "2 matchbox holes", ROFPSL writing that Andy (was not ripped off, good honest sale).
Off we go and buy 2nd RST ! What a great experience for a young man to see so many FORDS ! won't go into too much detail on purchase.
Anyway 2nd Red RST arrives on driveway and receives the same treatment as it's other buddie, fully stripped in a weekend.
So as of today there is 2 RST's sitting on a driveway, son works away all week, it's like a breakers yard here !
One shell is off on few weeks holiday next Tuesday to that famous place called "Welders" not far down the road from "Spray booth". Wheels off to A1 to be re-furbished and all that's really needed is are new panels.
So if anyone reads this and knows of any good panel suppliers for mk4's that are still producing good panels could you please advise.
I'll have to upload some pics of this "MAD project".
There you go a short story for bed time ! But that's just the beginning TBC......

wish I had an rst when I was a lad....well i got mine when I was 24 so not too old.
keep up the enthusiasm, thats what these projects are about...not so much money cos if you run out of that you just put it away but if the enthusiasm goes, the car gets sold!
