MANJ 2: Fiesta RS1800 ST170'd
Howdy all, thought I should get some pics of my new car up and start a little project thread on it.
I recently purchased 'the MANJ' a reasonably well known Fiesta off of my friend after he decided to have a clear out and cut down on some of his 'stock'. I had to go for the car as I knew what it was like and I could see plenty of potential in it. At the moment my plans are just to tidy it up and sort a few niggles on it untill I have saved the necessary funds to carry out the big stuff.
Today I got the stereo sorted out properly as a small first step and I have also had her booked in for a touch of paint to smarten her up. Nothing major I know but it's a start.
Here's a few pics after a quick clean up.
Let me know what you think!!

Rear arches have been replaced and the paint is shocking on them tbh. Both sides will be re-done as a freshen up but I'll only be truly happy with a full respray in time.
Plans include sorting a proper braking system as what is on it isn't the best... Need to research other peoples setups. Carbon fibre is on the cards and hopefully a change of engine in time... Not sure what atm but plenty of time to make my mind up
Should be at Trax in it, not on a stand though.

Wilwood front calipers 300mm discs, focus rs rear setup on rear, rear mounted servo iirc (only had the car a week ). Just has no bite, needs a good shove to pull you up...

6 speed box doesn't leave much room. Got to be a servo issue. If I push hard enough you soon stop, just lacks the initial bite.

They are bad but I have got used to them for now, won't be much use with my future plans though so they are high on my list of things to do

I see you have given it a clean, you must like it.......
Brakes are bad i know, Doing some big mph down towards aroundabout the day we collected it from portsmouth.....and well not really slowing down.......Mitch's face was a picture
I still dont see why you could not put a smaller servo in the bay.
Does look good tho Aaron im glad you kept it in our group.....

Just a quick update, she's in for a bit of paint and to have the arches trimmed to stop the slight rubbing issues. Also got some 15s so I can get hold of some track rubber for the future, MOs will be staying for the road though

The car used to run a modified Compbrake pedal box in the standard position IIRC. Agreed about the paint. It was rough around the Edges when Jon bought it and he tried to paint it himself just before Central Day 2010, but I think the weather was a bit cold.

im glad to see ts still about the paint is all my fault, first time id used a compressor and 2k paint..the brakes have always been bad,i changed the calipers, pads, balance bar,all the fluid to make no difference. the car originally had two servo's one for the front and one for the rear as the remote ones fitted only work on one line..i removed the front one as it didnt look good in the engine bay and to see if it made any difference as most people run without them.. it made no difference..the only thing left to change would be the master cylinders themselves...its a awesome car though..should still be fairly low miles and that engine and box has been in there for years! the first to use the st engine and the first to be fitted with a six speed box.and as far as i was ever aware the only car to be fitted with the lot...inlet,ecu,loom,dials etc.. enjoy
