Default P100 rebuild, longest in history!!!

Ive just started the re build of my p100. The diff blew up nov 2009, and only just rebuilt that in march this year! Capri rear axle with 3.75 diff. Just gona stick with the 2.0L pinto. Prob just put a set of twin 40,s and a fast road cam in with 4 branch manifold. The main thing first is the bodywork! Serious rear end issues. Does anyone on here have or know where i can get a new rear end, tub, buck, bed whatever you call it. I am going to attempt to repair but im know welder and can only rely on a work mate doing it in his lunch breaks. Going to be a very slow resto and on minimum budget but looking forward to it. Any advise or hints welcome About to try and put a load of pics up, have no idea how to, so you can see the amount of rear bodywork required! Let me know what you think. Cheers

i dont think the rear end is to bad, looks nice & straight which would be hard to come by,learn to weld mate & maybe it will get done faster, most people think its hard but its not once you had afew goes.

What did you need to do to fit an capri rear axle, and what kind of axle is it? A friend of mine is searching for that conversion.

Cheers

Atlas axle from I think a 3.0l Capri. It's atlas axle anyway and I changed the diff to a 3.75 as standard was a 3.09. It was already fitted to the p1 when I bought it. J know that's what everyone uses and it's easy to fit. It's fitted upside down and only has one leaf spring to make it lower.

Been a while since I've been on here, have a thread onford sierra owners club, but thought its about time I update and share some pics, plus I need some tuning advice She's now I'd say 85% complete. Just some spray work left. Not worrying about interior as no funds left. I sourced a new body that needed a bit of floor welding but much better condition. All welded and sealed. Chassis cleaned up and painted. Body fitted. Engine bay painted as it was red. Then sold my engine complete as it was the low compression pinto type. Got hold of a Capri pinto block. Cleaned up and painted with a stage 2 polished head with a burton BF63 cam, weber twin 40's and a 4,2,1 manifold. All the engine is painted mat black with ford electric orange pulleys. The whole truck will stay mat black, but electric orange grill, ford on the tailgate and drums. All up and running up to temperature nicely, but have some timing questions so if you can help I'm starting a thread in the engine section. Anyway here's some updated pics
