Default mk 1 escort cosworth conversion

Hi all,A little advice from the people in the know please any advice or tips greatly appreciated.First of all i have as much mechanical knowledge i think i need to carry out this project & also i'm a coded welder which i think will come in handy throughout the process .The thing is i am looking to buy a mk 1 escort 1.1 1972 model but it is a 4 door so would i encounter any extra problems/work with the conversion because of this or is the shell the same underneath as a 2 door (be gentle).I am hoping to do the work gradually at first whilst using it i.e weld in the new tunnels front & back firstly & get other bits ready that i can then eventually take it off the road to finish it.i also need to have the back seats in at the end of the project as i will also have to use it RARELY as a family car ,so is it correct i couldn't go down the 5 link set up for the diff as the two channels that have to be welded in underneath the back seat & they stick up too much if so what are my alternatives (the next best thing),would it be leafsprings & tramp bars.A list of recommended procedures in the right order would be helpful too listing basic parts i may need.I appreciate there are many ways to do this conversion but different ideas off all your experienced converters would be great,Thankyou in advance for sharing your knowledge, jason
