Thats the one, Nur Motorsport have done a great job of refurbing the old girl and it looks lovely with the carbon parts, they supply carbon parts so in the right buisness, last i heard of the car it was going to be around 450bhp but was put to 2wd, it was 4wd when i owned it, and to be used in time attack, that was a while ago. The new Diablo red paint looks mint.

I was rather heavy mind you due to the steel maxi wings.

More progress from AG, she's geting there. New bulkhead and tunnel due to the fact the engine has been moved back 30mm and the new tunnel for the FFD, also the steering has been started on, pedal box needs changing for a different type, should be getting a box of prts from MK Motorsport next week so thats everything to get her rolling, waiting for a bespoke crossmember from MK Motorsport, basically a grpa item but will accept 2wd non power rack mounts and standard cosworth position engine mounts, couple of small jobs to do then finishing touches from the AG team then its off to Gaz for paint, that will be a big step for me and the car.

Thanks to Andy G and Scott from AG Motorsport awsome fab work, Scott mentioned he had fallen out with the car on a couple of occasions due to the galvanised body on the 106.lol

I doubt it very much that it's a mistake
I think it's for the shape of the box.

The tunnel was built around the ffd sequential box which is a bit of a pig in shape and bigger, and dont forget its in a 106 so as much room possible is needed, although the pic does show it like that it aint near as much as in the pic, could be the light - difference in material surface or my dodgy photo to be honest.lol hope the dash still goes in!!

On a side note, if a tunnel (any tunnel) was wonky or wierdly shaped what would be the issue? absolutely non just purely looks.

cracking little motor this and ive been waiting for a good update , remember lads ag has probably made the tunnel as tight as possible on the drivers side as theres not alot of room left for pedal boxes and race seats etc

keep up the good work

cheers paul

Yeh that is the biggest issue room, the pedal box needs changing aswell to the one supplied from Martin due to the cylinder positions, another thing is most tunnels are 1 piece and easy this one certainly is not.lol

Love how its been fabricated properly for the components it will have. Not some shonky T5 box but a proper one.

I'm in no doubt with the setup you have planned for it that this is going to be probably one of the lightest, quickest shells to ever grace a YB. Proper TOTB contender that'll throw the masses

Im certainly trying my hardest to put the right bits on the car, especially as i refuse to let it take over my life money wise, thats why it takes time but we are definately getting there.

Im hoping it will be a good all rounder.

This is awesome ! But why a 106 may I ask ? Not gonna be very stable at the speed you'll be able to achieve with 700bhp !!

What is at that power?! I hate French cars, but a 106 is probably one of the lightest cars out there, so why not

Basically the peugeot body shells are rust free, but the main reason was because it is light and different only 2 exist, its no different from a fiesta conversion ect for stableness and it has all the right parts running gear wise, wont be an issue, its not built for top speed either i think the box will take it to 178ish flatout.

Yes, watching the specs, you could bet we are talking about a WRC escort there. I am sure your car is gonna go like a bullet, no doubt about it. Will be very fun to drive, again congrats for your job, the quality of the build is SPOT ON !

thats not fast enough in a crisp packet

Awesome Machine, and great choice in shell, would be just similar to the fiesta conversions, so why not!

Few more updates from AG, mocking up the running gear, still lots of little jobs to do but its getting there.

Had a bomb shell dropped on me regarding some parts i bought but will cross that bridge once i get to it, ive hopefully got a better option in the pipe line.
