Been to give Graham a hand today...
Graham's job after taking the brave pills was to drill the bootlid...
We measured, re measured, re measured again...
The result... Looks pretty good...
In return, my job was to fit the spoiler caps!!!
Hate fitting these, picked the holes clean of paint, greased the holes up, and whacked them in and hoped for the best...
No paint damage thank f**k!!!

We've done a few other little jobs, spent ages trying to gap the headlights, grill, bonnet right.
Mopped a few panels... Even done alittle PDR although it still wants a few more hours on it...
Hopefully Graham will post his pics up shortly...
It's looking good though, will look perfect with the Cossie kit and new Hocks fitted...

Next weekend jobs are to blow bottom of drivers door in, blow drivers rear arch in...
Shell should be mint after we've finished doing the PDR on it...

Cheers Chris.
mega pleased with it now. Coming together nicely. Interior is getting there, the interior will be a bit of an on going project as ive got a few plans that might take a while to get sorted...
The engine is nice and quiet now the lifters have quietened down, the cam bearings have sorted the annoying knock/rattle at tickover and low revs so pleased about that.
Brakes need a bit more bleeding as there's still some air in there somewhere, and the power steering doesn't seem to be working paticularly well.
Well todays update, now all the big jobs are complete, I know have some space to actually work on the car
2cv sold tonight. Should of sold it ages ago but hey ho...

Have you put the p/s cooler on?
If so is that owt to do with it?
If not maybe a faulty rack, you bought a new'en didn't you?
Might be better after you sort the tracking, camber etc...

the rack doesn't seem to have taken much fluid actually into the rack from the tank if that makes any sense. I'm wondering if it is somehow airlocked? I will get the front end in the air and take it lock to lock a few times with the engine running and see if it improves.
Hopefully setting the suspension up on saturday so sunday should be good to drive it over to yours for the bits

Over the last couple of days I've been prepping a front bumper for the Saff...
It's quite a straight bumper, with the odd crack, flaking paint, stone chip etc...

Not far off now anyway... Looking a lot smoother...

Bought me a new toy so I can mop the fresh paint up a lot quicker...
The Da kestrel really ain't meant for polishing up fresh paint that's been flatted...
A new rotary has been bought to speed the process up...

Today's work...
Graham popped down in the Saff for me to sort the scab on the lower drivers door and drivers rear arch...
Think Graham will add his pics, but here's mine of the job done...
Excuse the black dots, I dropped my phone yesterday and must have loosened some crap behind the lense...

First drive out today went fairly well, few problems to fix but nothing major.
The idle seems to be a bit low, and its not making much boost, so im not sure exactly whats happening there...
Speedo doesnt work but that will just be the cable not pushed into the back of the clocks properly.
But the main thing letting it down at the moment is the feel of the steering. there is absolutly no self centering action, I think the new steering column bearing is tight and causing the steering to feel heavy. ill have to have a play with it during the week.

The repairs today have come out really well, cheers chris
can't wait to get the little problems sorted and the bumpers and skirts on

Think Graham's waiting for the right bonnet to come along... Condition and price...

Done some more work on this sat/sun...
Saturdays jobs were to prime front bumper, fix amp phono leads, black drivers side side strips, and make a start on the PDR...

Bumper just wants flatting through the grades now, and glue wants removing from where bumper strip sits...
Looks great now compared to how it did look...

Tackled the bigger dents on the drivers side...
Pretty happy with my efforts...

Still a littlen in this door, pulled all with glue, just wants a lift with the bar to get the last pin hole out...

Today after a BBQ feeding 20 people I've had another hour pulling dents out of the boot and moved onto the passenger side...
Must have been parked near a golf course...
It's getting straighter...
No pics of tonight's work sorry...

Flatted back the problem areas and have primed it again...

Placed bumper on the car to see what it looked like... Had a Helper for this...
Should be fine once flatted and polished... Just waiting for bumper brackets to arrive before it's lined up...
Once it's fitted for good and polished will fit some new bumper trims... ( Hope you've ordered them Graham? )
