Zetec S2 Escort RS Turbo, rebuild. again. Properly!
Hello, im new to PassionFord! I currently have an XR2i as a daily runner, and an Escort RS Turbo as my toy...
The spec of the escort so far:
90 spec bodykit and spoiler, bad boy
bonnet, 17 inch multispoke wheels, with Yokohama Prada spec 2 tyres,
modified front bumper with mesh, angel eye headlights.
Rebuilt 2 litre Zetec, 1mm Skimmed pistons, Omex ECU, T34 Turbo on Volvo housing, Rover 220
Turbo inlet manifold, Pace intercooler, Pro Alloy radiator, stainless exhaust system, Deisel Mk3 fiesta gearbox, RS Turbo
LSD.
Colour coded roll cage, fully stripped, Sparco Evo bucket seats, TRS
harnesses, boost, oil pressure, air/fuel ratio oil temp, water temp
gauges, momo stearing wheel, in-car brake pipes, rear bias adjuster
lever.
Koni adjustable shock absorbers all round with lowering springs, fully
polybushed, front strut brace, sierra cosworth rear discs/pads,
cosworth front brakes with willwood 4 pot callipers with yellow stuff
pads, braided hoses...
Dyno'd at 254bhp @ 14 psi
The engine was built on a budget, i had the fun i wanted in it last year, but now im going to start again and do it properly.
I have recently bought Forged Wossner Pistons, Forged PEC Rods, Focus RS Gearbox, custom 3 peice shafts for a mk4 escort, clutch and flywheel with ARP bolts, all selectors, mounts and adaptor plate, and electronic speedo.
I am hoping to get around 450bhp at the end, so what turbo do you guys recomend i go for? and what head work? e.g, cams, lifters, valves ect...
Any feedback would be much appritiated!!
Cheers, Tom.

Hi Tom,
You need to setup a photobucket account and upload the pics to that and then copy the link code in here.
Get some pics up mate. Good to see you're going to rebuild it. Nice spec base to start from.
Loz said you're going to pop in and see him.
See you around,
Dan

nice car mate, mines similar specced up to yours. but im running a t4 turbo and 328bhp in a road car seriess 2. for 450bhp your car might be slower it will spin everywhere! wont be right unless the chassis and the lot is properly built up with proper bits. what gearbox you going for? mtx? im on ib5. if you do get 450 bhp thats going to be scary on boost lol!

yeah i got an MTX box mate... and yeah 328 is a nice figure... when mine was set up last time it was 254.. thinking about it, 450 would be pretty undrivable i suppose! a more reliable 350 would probably be a safer option?

up to you dude. mine at 328bhp is pretty scary mate! im on a t4 so when it comes on boost comes on really hard and gives a nice kick up the backsidde.[ set up so lag cuts out the wheelspinning]. just build it and spec it up for 450bhp and then just run it at 350bhp that will be very reliable because the engine will be capable for alot more power.then just have a boost controller and 2 maps. so that 450bhp could be unleashed when you want it. but with 350bhp pretty much no car on the road will even come close to it dude! have some proper tyres on it,proper anti roll bar from the 16i,quaifiie atb diff, run it with a t34 will be a quicker car than a t4 on the roads though

cheers mate its only heat rapped normal one. not sure what they could handle mate... but on a mates cossie a t34 is doing 400bhp/ could probably take a bit more but im not sure.. if you want good power with less lag look into a gt28 roller bearing turbo
