My FRST 2nd Engine Build, Here we go again ,NEW PICS
When i got hold of my Standard FRST nearly a year ago now all i had in mind was doing a t3 conversion
but as soon i thought of that i was already driving to my local ford dealer and buying a full gasket set and got hold of a stage 2 T3 from CR Turbo's .With help from a friend i was also in posession of a stage 3 head with kent cam, 195 chip beiges lalalala and the rest
All i wanted was a quick car with minimal fuss !
The engine was built and in the car and the running in miles where racking up, the MOT ran out 1 week after the engine was built so i put i through its MOT . The next day i had a couple mates in the car and was giving it some up a local dual carrage way hill when i heard a bang ! The oil light came on and the car was splutting and miss firing for fun managed to get 300 meters along the road where the car stalled and the damage was clear !
ROD SNAP= HOLE IN BLOCK AND A WIPED OUT ENGINE !
The only damage i done to the top was a little bent exhasut valve, so i managed to get one , it was a bit scabby but came up well with some TLC as you can see in the pictures
So back to drawing board, so after x-mas i started thining about what i wanted to do.
I could not go wrong with a bullet proof bottom end for starters so thats when i made the choice to go for a set of fardon rods with ARP's and a set of 81mm accrilite pistons with standard C.R , i didnt want it to be to laggy as the turbo is quite bad already
I mangaged to get hold of an other block and crank and the re-build started.
I wanted the best bits money could get with reason, so i also managed to get a full set of ACL heavy duty main bearing and big end bearing from specialist engines who sent them out and saved my life as no-one could get them to me when i wanted.
I got a re-grind and polish on the crank and a balance to make sure everything is good to go.
The block got a re-bore and a nice honning from a local enginer (mike @ ratt racing )
The it was a case of sticking it back together
The new engine is only on 30 miles so i have a far bit to go.

Ive had this car nearly a year now and have only done 1200 miles its been off the road more than it has been on the road, which is good because when i went to tax it a few days ago i found out the reg number on the insurance cert was wrong ! fuckers
Anyway ALL comments welcome
Some i took today, i dont think im a natural photographer

no mate, dan @ FF said this is not what he is looking for as the standard of mk3 fezzys are so high at the mo.
He tried to get it into the readers cars section but i must of been to late when i sent him the photos,so maybe next month, or wait a bit longer and get in classic ford lol

i dont want to start slaggin off cars in mags but last month in FF it had a feature on a red FRST , it had mondy wheels 15" on the front and 16" on the rears, it was nothing special at all and it had nos and only made 203 bhp without it and 242 with nos, plus it had a empty bottle of volvic under the engine bay for the oil collection from the rocker , now come on , if u want to get a car feature id defo make sure i would sort the whole engine bay out.
he did have a nice selection of gauges TBH
but i do hate cars with the cheating gas

Cheers mate, she has got a couple of little blemishes but nothing serious, im looking 2 get a finish like yours eventually. The only really bad bit on it is the head gasket has gone but i got a spare engine in my garage if i need it.

Looking real nice mate, I'm in the process of turning my Grey FRST into a track car. Was thinking of cutting most of the front panel out like you have. Any pics of it without the cooler fitted?
