Well i bought myself a k reg mk5 rs2000 back in december for £400. the car had been sitting round the back of a barn for 4 years untouched so you can imagine what sort of a state she was in, but when i went up to pick it up i stuck in the battery out of my mates rs turbo as there wasnt a battery in it, turned the key and she started first time (i was gobsmacked) and idled away no problem.
I knew on purchising the car that it was gonna need alot of welding on the chassis, i have a mate who has offered to do the welding for me as i dont have anywhere to do it myself, but ive recently been thinking bout buying a doner car n transfering engine and running gear over, but i want to keep the number plate from the car i have, dunno if this is possible.

ANY advice on the above would be much appricieted and if any 1 has a doner then please give me some details.........

get an escort estate and build a sleeper, i take that the rs2000 is 2wd
is the number plate a private plate or just a cool standard plate,
get some pics up...

Want the car to look like its the same car as there as been lots of people said that it will never go back on the road, it could with alot of work but think it might be cheaper to do a 1 out of 2. its nae a private plate just that i want people to think its the same car,lol, my way of sayin feck aff to them, lol,

get some rusty abandoned pics up lol, as above id use the interior trim and running gear in an estate or a 1.4 base model

i know you said it would be fuck off to those that doubted you but reshelling is effectivly agreeing that it would never be roadworthy again anyway so , reshell and dont declare it would be a great sleeper and cheap tax and insurance, aswell as less grief really and probably a safer bet, surely a mint shell is better than a shell welded to death
