Escort mk5 rs turbo problem!!!
Hi
basicaly Ive fitted an rs turbo engine and all the gear into my mk5 escort everything was going good then we went to start her and had spark but no fuel so we sorted that ( polarity was wrong on pump :S ) and now we have plenty of fuel but we have lost the spark along the way, she did start before we sorted the pump we rigged up an external pump and some hose into a can of fuel to see if she would go and she started first time no problem , now , I have tested the coil and with a test light there is no flash :/ changed the dizzy , cap , arm , coil, leads , plugs ,checked the green wire to the coil , removed the wiring and went right threw it and still no luck just wondering could it be the ecu ( ignition module) and is there a way to test it or might it be something else.
Hope someone can help getting a bit puzzled now
many thanks
chris

Do you have good earths? A bad earth could cause a weak spark, don't know if it would show no pulses at the coil though. But seeing as you've pretty much tried everything else this is all else I could think of.
And you've checked ALL wiring even up to the key and your spare coil definitely works?
There's also a little black fuse thing with a red and green wire for the coil, can't remember the name of it, is that all ok?

Hi mate thanks for the quik reply ummm , checked all those bits seem to be fine the green/red wire I think is from the pink fuel pump relay and joins the green wire that goes to the coil did u meen the suppressor ? That goes inline to the tachometer ? As I took that off :/ would that stop the spark? Also the green /red wire looks to be a switched live 12v would that be right ?
Cheers for the help mate
