going to be a mad bit of kit when done
out of interest you said that the stud patterns on the manifolds were the same ,if so could you not swop the two manifolds over from one side to the other & fit the turbo,s at the back of the engine bay instead of the front that way you could of kept the standard look bonnet & kept your head lights so it could of been kept road legal

Is the gearbox from the 4.6 modular engine ?
Just asking as although the holes mostly line up the starter sits too high to fit without fouling the block if you keep the 4.6 bellhousing.
I had the to mess about adapting a T5 bellhousing to get a T56 onto my 302.

Cheers for the replies lads, glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks hidiously ugly motors with stupid great engines in are cool. I just hope to Christ the bloody thing works when it finally gets done!!
Can't fit the manifolds the correct way up as the turbos foul on the chassis legs and inner wings!
Same reason as above, plus it would also mean doing away with the brake servo set-up and running a pedal box. Basically it was much easier to just cut two holes in the bonnet! lol!!
Not sure what I'm doing about headlights yet as there is a serious lack of space, but it will still be road legal
The man is right
Awesome! Love it!!
Will be a Jack of all trades car really. Probably be shit at everything but as long as it puts a smile on my face I couldn't care less! I want something that I can be a dick head in, take on a few track days, go drifting in if I fancy it, do a couple of quarter mile runs in, and have a bit of laugh on the road (when the sun's out!).

Yes gearbox is from later modular engine. The starter motor won't fit and it will require some fabrication to sort it out, but I haven't even started to look at that yet!!

like it, its gonna be a mad car, what power do you reckon it will make?
as regards the body, youve done such a tidy job on the underneath, running gear, interior, and bay layout on the rest of the car that the exterior lets it all down, the arches look strained on and the base spec front bumper looks terrible.
no point in critisizing without input so i suggest if you want it different than the rest what about the front bumper from that silver wide arch nowegian saph from years ago, that looked quiet well, and is getable from the company up the side of it im sure. for arches maybe copy the escos arches from desert storm. cant think of anything for the headlights yet though

Love the engineering and the concept but why go to all that expense and effort to have it look like scrap metal? With a tiny bit more effort you could have a stunning looking car, at the moment most scrap yards would turn it away. Pleeease reconsider the looks, those arches need to go in the bin.

finally, someone who gets the point of the car!
I'm not building it to win shows, nor win races, nor be a drift king, nor be the quickest thing up the quarter mile. I'm building it because its bloody stupid and funny!! I mean anyone who replaces headlights for turbos isn't really going to be that bothered about the car's functionality are they? It's just a laugh, and something different to what the follow-the-leader types. No it won't have a 4x4 bonnet, no it won't have a Cossie front bumper, and no it wont have Comps!! lol!!
As for the bodywork- it aint finished yet. Granted it ain't ever going to look pretty but then if that's what I wanted I would have built something else. And as for the arches, all will become apparent when the 9.5/10J wheels are under there!

It`s nice for someone to have a proper outlook on how to modify a car. Who cares what it looks like as long as it does the business??? I wish I had the time to build something sierra like with the spare range rover engine I have!
