My D reg S2 off road since 1994,05/10/2014 mile stone it's of the spit
Hi all my name is Paul.I have been restoring my turbo on and off for last couple of years,I will have had it 6ys in july.I have known this car since 1994 when it was used as training rig at kwik fit in Derby for its state of the art abs system aka abysmal braking system,It won't be going back on,I bought it off a friend who got it off someone at kwik fit,my intention was to put an mot on it and sell it on,but the more i looked at it i couldn't believe how good the shell was all the panels were original and date stamped.some time in its life it's had the nsf head light panel replaced with a genuine ford panel.no damage to any other original front panels and wings.
All I have done so far is strip car to a bear shell, and removed all paint, sealer and under seal.
I started by building a spit and once the shell was on it I started with the repairs, so far a new battery tray, repair sections to bottoms off sills just trying to keep as much original metal as possible.I have repaired 3 small cracks in the rear chassis legs,4 small holes in floor,a few in the front cross member and in boot floor were toe bar wires came through
All repairs have been butt welded in and ground down no filler except sills just to get final shape.
I have seam welded where the floor joins to the sills on the inside of the shell to add a little strength.
Recently I have done a bit more with it,I have got most of the floor etch primed and in mastic primer. The next update will be seam sealer.
