Do you have to order the chip for that or do you re map the one in there ?
It's fully mapable through a laptop, no chips to swap. I'm even using mine with a nearly new std engine loom with a few added extra wires so if you had an aftermarket loom then you could do the same.

It can run 8 but at the moment I'm thinking 4, but I'm in two minds.

I'm only looking for 500 ish HP, tbh the less power it makes the better as I'm running std transmission.

Why not aim for running 400-420bhp rather than 500bhp if the power isn't an issue for you mate?? ...or are you aiming for 500 because its an RS500 and that would be an *OCD persons dream to make the model name and power output the same?!

Cheers,
Grant

* not implying you have OCD, just the only reason I could think why 500bhp was the target on an RS500 after you said you don't really mind what power it is.

Got most of the wiring done to the new ecu and alarm so it's time to get the dash back in. I have the original (un cracked) dash but have never liked the speaker grille in the middle so have opted for a 92 spec dash, I can always change back if I don't like the way it looks when finished.

The late dash has an alarm beacon on top, I removed the original LED and drilled it out a little larger and fitted the Clifford blue alarm LED instead, I bonded it inplace with clear silicon.

RS ecu cover now matched dash

I have painted the instrument surround in black (instead of the original met grey) and unsure of the look at the mo so may change it afterwards if it looks too much.

Later type steering column (adjustable) shroud with original lock barrel and later rounded stalks

Steerin wheel can go on soon

New ECU allows the use of individual plug top coils

i've spotted the later spec clock in there as well on the floor

just one question, the centre consoles are longer/shorter on the later/earlier cars, have you figured out how to get around this?

might also be a good time to wire in some heated seat switches while you're at it, even if you don't use them

Not using the later spec clock as I prefer the original one. I will sort console once dash is installed, I have both types so not a problem. Heated seats are not on my list of requirements.

Anyone got a 170mph Sapphire speedo that I can buy?

i like the look of the black surround, it makes it look, different without looking different, if you see what i mean, no one would probably notice it until it had been pointed out and then we'd all say "ahh, nice"

looking good though, and almost finished by the looks of it

Got to the stage where the interior bits can start going in

Sound deadening is in ..

Note the later heater ducts that send air to the rear passengers.

Stripped and re built the intrument cluster as it was looking a little dirty..

ECU wiring almost done..

Late dash, late stalks, adjustable column with early clocks.
