Default My 2wd saff cossie project 28/5/13 PICS!

right then had this a while now and have pulled my finger out and getting on with it

now, you will have to bare with me as this will be a fairly long project but ill update as and when i can !

so the old boy is away this weekend so thought id go in and crack on with the underside, it is going to be a everyday car so the whole underside is going to be nice so it dosnt get bad with the bad weather, i plan to stone chip the underside in black, its very clean under there with only 50275 miles on the clock but it will be even nicer soon

anyways enough chat heres what i got done

The car.

the car originally came with grp a fibreglass morrettes in it, i didnt really want the modified look so they came out in replace for these

they were off a normal sapphire gls or something but the glass is good

so i popped the clips off the top and bottom, fully cleaned the light then got all the clips plated in gold/zinc,

back panel is dead clean

Name: 179-1.jpg
Views: 2449

the car is originally a cloth car, but it has a minty mint set of leather in it so will be keeping them for now and purchasing two fitted seat covers to keep them good

steering wheel will be re-trimmed one day

Name: 170-1.jpg

Size: 80.8 KB

check out that phone and original radio/cassete they WILL be staying

Name: 171.jpg
Views: 2383
Size: 72.6 KB

right now for the underside, its a real clean example with very light surface rust only which will get cleaned up and be perfect

righto then more !

and its bloody hard work

first things first thanks to my old man what a diamond ! he dragged it outside, lifted the rear up and steam cleaned the whole underside ! he got drenched lol !

not all of it was got as it wasnt high enough but helped no end and probably knocked a good 5 hours cleaning time off !

after this we left it to dry for a day out in the sunshine, then tonight back on the ramp for me and my cleaner to get scrubbing again

heres some pics of the latest

left side cleaned right side as per after steam clean

Name: 044-4.jpg
Views: 2392
Size: 48.5 KB

underside still in a mess after steam clean

Name: 045-4.jpg

Size: 76.7 KB
Name: 047-3.jpg
Views: 2403
Size: 80.7 KB

and heres after a good clean up !

Name: 050-2.jpg
Views: 2334
Size: 60.7 KB
Name: 052-1.jpg
Views: 2336

Name: 055-2.jpg
Views: 2399

so thats pretty much that whole back section done, just the arches after

worked my way forwards a little to see how it would come up

only a quick wipe over but side by side clean with dirty

thats all for now, more as it comes
