you using the 2.0 litre flywheel you said? not sure it will fit into your gearbox. The loom you have is fitted with pats immobiliser im pretty sure, i think an easier and ultimatly more tunable solution may be a Megasquirt ecu, depends on budget and what you are using the car for, nice project though.

well the flywheel fits in the gearbox and i think is a 1.6 si flywheel and megasquirt may be easyer but alot more expensive and hastle in this application im not planning on installing the internal loom so is pats still needed as i thought this only controlled the lives to engine loom and not to ecu
just need to know rely does the pats modual effect the ecu and also on the main zetec wiring loom connector are the following coloured wires;

1 - Brown
2 - Green
3 - Brown
4 - black
5 - Red/Black
6 - Red
7 - Black
8 - Green/Black
9 - White/Brown
10 - Green/Brown
11 - Yellow/Black
12 - Brown.
what does what

i belive the rs loom did not come with pats where as the rs1800 did i know this loom should work as it come out of a mk2 running rs1800 engine and they have managed not to butcher the engine loom up :S they some how wired the connectors into the mk2 loom if you understand what i mean

if you put a fused ig live to the black injector wire(loom live) then that will power your injectors and ecu and the ecu also needs a permenant live (think its red and big) also the browns need earthed and the fuel pump wires need connected, everything else should just plug in

I dnt have a progress thread at mo, have been meaning to upload some pix and sort one out. Im going the black top route on throttle bodies with a custom ecu.

Will sort a thread asap as i have so many bits. You should log on to mk1 forum or xrtwo.com as there are a few people on there with mk1-2s with zetec conversions or are carrying them out so questions are usually answered.

Default Engine now in

well today thought i would get stuck in on mountin the blacktop in the fiesta i had the engine in and out 4 times before i was happy where the top engine mount was going to sit.

i had to drill new holes on the lower and upper gearbox cradle mounts and welded some washers ontop of the holes so everything is nice and strong

then i drilled the hole for the top mount on the inner wing which has had 3 plates welded in to strengthen the mount and i will proberly at a laterdate weld in some tube for the mount bolt to sit in

shouldnt have any problems piping the cooling system we are goin to use a saxo rad and do away with the heater matrix as the car is going to stay stripped out also shouldnt struggle to much with the wiring i have found the ecu perm live and the ignition switch live on the main loom block connector the only thing i can see there being problems with is the fueling what sort of tank pump setup is needed and can we use a rs turbo fuel pump and plumb a return into the tank?
