this car is now finished and i have done a show season with it so i though id get ass into gear and share some of the rebuild pics..

All work carried out by my Dad in his garage at home musta saved me a fortune over the years ;D CheeRS matie.. 8)

when i bought the car

not looking the best i must admit both back arches were shot one side right down to the sills, petrol cap had a stupid alloy cover on that didnt help things by keeping water behind and aiding in its demise lol











first off we were just going to repare the petrol area but after fitting it in we decided against it

All panels used are from ford..





so it was off with the quarter



good job aswell






also replaced the passenger side





Both front wings needed to be replaced



aswell as the full A pillars on both sides

we replaced most metal think there was only the roof that wasnt rotten, we left the front panel in but did a lot of work on it although the slam was ok lol. Im gonna try to get the rest of the photos up tonight. Thanks for the comments.

some more pics, i know looking at the state of this car you would think it would have been easier to reshell it or as some would say not to bother as its only an rs2000 lol but this was only meant to be a quick tidy up then a daily runner as you can see things changed.

Engine was stripped down for cleaning so it was new rings, bearingsand gaskets.

time to put it in





So after a long time waiting it was time to take it out, Santa pod was the first show i went to and the car was faultless driving from the northeast and she never missed a beat..













And this is were she was built!



all work done by my dad and me (mainly my dad) lol the ONLY thing that we didnt do was fit the alarm but i new a guy that came to the garage to fit it for me.

since she's been run in i did a rolling road shootout with the north yorkshire rsoc and the car made 165.4bhp so i was fair chuffed with that.




There are a lot more pics but i think you'll get the idea of what went in to the restoration of ALICE and although people say they are a poor RS i love driving mine she goes ok and handles well granted more power would be nice but hey its not a cossie never was never will be

Very nice motor mate looks like you put a hell of alot of work into that.

Thanks for the comments guys

The spit was something we made up with some box section we had laying about also using some steal tubing, since then though we have reused the metal for other things and now are using the 2 engine stand method.

A lot of hard work there mate, very nice car though i had a black mk5 3i with rs 2k bonnet, reminds me of that, but this is a whole lot tidier!, whats the plans now? leave it or more power lol?

Do love the look of Mk5a RS2000's with the bulge bonnet. Did they make them out of real real shit steel as everyone I've seen, including the 2 I've owned, have been rotton beyond beleif!

Manifold has had the aps system removed as its restrictive, we have another section on the garrage that cant be seen that has shelves in were we keep all parts or shite lol also the compressor we use for spraying is in there...
