G reg S2 RS Turbo rebuild
Hey guys new member.
Got a black Escort RS Turbo thats undergoing a rebuild. It's had all the usual chav crap done to it and it's also been owned by someone whos mechanical talent doesn't quite match their enthusiasm.
The idea is to remove all the chav parts (too many to list) and return the car to standard. Then mot it and enjoy it.
Any tips and advice would be welcome.
I'd also like to pick your collective brain about short-shifter kits. There is one fitted at the moment but in keeping with the rest of the mods the gears are now all over the place. I was just wondering what gets changed when fitting one so i know what to remove.
Cheers

Finished fitting the new front suspension springs and shocks today. Went to take the bumper off to look at the intercooler and realised the bumper was only held on with 1 nut instead of 4. Once that was off i looked at the radiator and the fan, and they were only held on with tie-wraps. The more i take off this car the worse it gets.

The car currently has a quickshift kit fitted, only it's been done really badly. What gets changed over on the kits so i know what to change back?
Also i'm having problems posting pictures. Every time i click on the manage attachments button i get an 'error on page' message on the status bar at the bottom of internet explorer. All it says is 'errors on this webpage might cause it to work incorrectly'. Is this my computer settings or my security software blocking the link?

This is the car when it was actually running. Judging from it's condition though it's probably a good thing it isn't on the road. The sun-strip was really annoying as it covers about a quarter of the windscreen which was replaced with a non-heated version.

This is one of the brake pads i took off. The only possible explanation for this i can think of is the wrong size discs. If anyone else can provide another explanation i'd be glad to hear it.

This is what was holding the radiator onto the car. The more stuff i find like this the more i want to strip the car further to ensure there are no critical problems in other areas.

Just went out to start swapping the rear suspension over and as soon as i'd opened my garage door the heavens opened up. If only i had a garage big enough for a car and tools.
Damn you scottish weather.
