Default 1970 GT Capri E85 5.4L Ford Modular Quad Cam V8 Turbo

one project is coming to an end, so that means another is about to start. my brother and i are combining to build a new car to race in the APSA Modified Street Blown and will be a 10.5 tyre car for non-APSA events. MSB cars are basically street cars with a roll cage, as they run factory style suspension (no ladder bar or 4-link) all we are pretty much allowed to do is move the suspension in a bit to allow for a bigger tyre. biggest tyre allowed to run in MSB is 29x12.5 we will have a 29x10.5. unfortunately in Australia they are extremely strict on modifying cars and 4.2L is the biggest legally allowed on the road that is turboed, and you can only put 4-point roll cages so this will be only for the track at this stage.
what are we building?
1970 Ford Capri (genuine GT)
Ford 5.4L Boss V8 (Aussie power for this one)
CNC ported heads (intake and exhaust) we finish them off by hand with our own custom porting for better flow efficiency. heads flow 325+cfm@.500''
Manley Valves
Carrillo Rods
Diamond Pistons (10.5-11:1 comp)
Comp Cams (custom grind)
Forged Steel Crank (factory crank race prepped)
Mark Williams 40-spline 9'' Floater
Mickey Thompson Wheels and Tyres
Borg Warner S491 91mm 2000hp Turbo
TurboSmart WasteGate and BOV
EMS 8860 ECU
EMS CDI
ID2000 Injectors
custom Intake Manifold
Koni Double Adjustable Shocks
2-Speed PowerGlide Gearbox
Neal Chance 10'' Bolt Together converter
will be running on E85

the engine mounting, chassis work, roll cage, exhaust manifolds, radiator and other pipework will be done by GrooveRyder Fabrications. he did all the work on the Fopar (my twin turbo Ford powered Dodge)

hopefully will be completed in about 12 months. ultimately we are looking for between 1400-1600hp and run mid-7's @ around 185+mph.

it's winter here now so no snakes the cat sleeps near the car, she killed 3 snakes this summer. hoping to have everything done within a year. the modifications are not much from factory, there is a Turbo Capri here in the same class we will be doing 7.7@183 so it's achievable.

doing the engine first might even throw it in one of the other Capri's we have that is already done so we can race till the chassis is finished. or maybe throw it in my drag car, a 5.4 would look good in there though it would be 100lbs heavier.
