Default The final problem

I have a '66 Mustang fastback made to look like an R-model. I have a Fuel-Safe cell in it with a sending unit for a Stewart -Warner fuel gauge. In the rebuild, we switched to Autometer gauges, wired everything up but I get no reading of any kind on the fuel gauge. Here are my questions: 1) If there is an ohm difference between the Autometer gauge and the SW sending unit, is there a simple way to get them compatible. 2) If it's not that, any ideas on how to trace this back? I love cars but I'm not mechanically gifted. I'm aso new to the site so thanks to any and all in advance for help. I love driving my car but it gets a little hairy guessing how much gas is left.
