He means your making a total hash of it, and fixing your cock ups is going to end up being more difficult and more expensive than doing it properly in the first place.

hey, no offence but the straight through exhaust will be to loud, i did that with my xr2 i had years ago, right from first putting it on it was to loud, put a half decent back box on and nothing else and it will be more acceptable, it worked for me.. otherwise plod will be following you

New exhaust is on and sounding good but because it comes out near the middle im a little stuck on a way to mount it. Do u have to have a rubber exhaust mount for the MOT ?? answers please

Today i also took the wheels off and masked everything up then painted the calipers and drums with red high temp paint. i also bled the brakes and now they work, well kind of the O/S front brake sticks on slightly and ive taken the caliperall apartand cleaned everythingbut it still does it. WHY.?

The red brakes do stand out when u see them. A nice little cheap touch doing that

These are the wide arches wich are going back on ebay because there is just to much work involved to get them to fit right, this side fits quite well but the other rear side doesnt and the 2 front arches are to big for this car (they look like they are from a LandRover or something) if i was to use these arches it would mean cutting away all the metal arches and filler as it all shows through underneath wide arch. And all the arches are different measurements so the FU**ING CLOWN who made these cost me a shit load of money.
i should have taken alot of peoples advice and got propper arches but where can i get new metel repair arches from ??????????? Please let me know asap thanks
im gonnado this job propper this time

because they are the wrong size and will rub, you need 195/45/15.

not a ford but heres one i made for my 17yr old step daughter.

now sitting on 15's, big discs on the front and rear disc conversion wasn't that expensive.

First of all i got some primer on those arches today and so far there is no rust creeping through the filler well yet .but i dont think rust will re-appear because that JENOLITE rust treatment must of worked its magic. try it for youself, less than £10 from wilco motosave

It look brilliant with no rear bumper dont ya think ?
is it legal to have no bumper on the back ?
I took it for a little spin and the front wheel catches slightly when on full lock but spacers should sort this problem and the brakes work but not the best ive ever driven.
how are standard brakes on other fiesta's ? any good or shit, well to say this has been stood for 10 years they arnt bad now ive adjusted the rear brakes and bled the system

I avnt sanded this arch down yet still got rough filler but put a coat of paint over the filler as someone advised me to do it

what should i do now i have taken most of ther rubber divider trim off ?
because the paint where the paint meets up its doesnt look nice, is there any kind of trim i could buy to sorrt this little problem

buy 6 cans of matt black aerosol. and mask the windows, then respray, the two tone looks naff
fiesta brakes work.... but arent brilliant.
its legal to drive it without a rear bumper, but you need the number plate lights to work for the MOT
and if the wheels are catching on the arches at full lock, spacers wont help.

Certainly looks a like a cable tie is holding the exhaust

but then, after seeing the arches it's hardly suprising.

yes it is was a cable tie just taking the weight of the exhast while i welded a new mount on. Cable ties are the best thing ever invented i even use them to hold me scooter panels together and talking about bodge jobs i am currently using my 125cc scooter with Sockets as front wheel bearings, its scary but it works (21mm + 20mm if ur interested lol)

i would value it at £50 with the amount of rust and filler on the car and the cable ties holding the exhaust up lol.if you really want to restore the car do it right the first time instead of a blue peter resto.

there is actually nothing wrong with fiesta and mechnically it is sound, the underneath is solid its only really 1 arch that is made from filler the other 3 arches only have a tiny amount of filler on them after i treated the rust so what is people's problem i dont see why it would fly through its MOT oh ye apart from a split inner drive shaft boot. Its not like the car is gonna fall to pieces

I have now, regretably sold my MK2 for £320 not bad considering.
now i have a mk6 1.3 escort project, this 1 wont go wrong as im making it a mushy blend of Rs2000, Cosworth and Gti its gonna be great.
Is there a performance clutch avaliable for this little 1.3 ?

wow this guy is my hero any chance you could do some resto work on my escort i need two new arches making and a exhaust entierly made up of coke cans gaffa tape and trumpit for a backbox i want it to sound like a raspy brass band also another tip for you when lowering a car instead of cutting the springs the proper way of doing it is to compleatly remove the springs and replace with blocks of wood

i think it needs a new clutch as when i drive up the ramps got to give it alot of revs and general driving is down on power and it doesnt wheelspin due to no power even when warm

Think when your drivin up the ramps you should maybe point them towards the nearest edge of the nearest harbour hold it about 5000 rpm let the clutch out and send you and your 1.3 escort into the tide

3 words... buy a corsa.
i suggest you buy a haynes manual and read it then read people on heres resto's and learn what your doing , id say you are dangerous and stupid and an insult to people who restore cars on a budget. as people have said the cheap way is wrong . do things once and properly youll save money in long term but on a positive side if i ever see a dodgy looking guy with his t shirt covered in filler in a mk6 escort trying to wheelspin around the streets of leeds ill know its you
