done some more today, thought id fit the dash and some stuff as its getting in the way, shame i have to take it out when i do the engine conversion, but at least its safer in the car
tried getting a pic of carbon and flock together to see how it looks, looks better in the flesh
and now a problem im pissed off about, went to fit my centre console only to realise it doesnt fit anymore
this is due to me using a later spec bottom half dash so the early console sits to high and is a different shape
luckily i had a spare console off a later one, and put them next to wach other, i did trim the early one down but i got no hope of it fitting
so now i have to cut the rear window switch holes out as this new console doesnt have them , and i need to get a window switch urround for tuesday to get it to raj and autoflck so he can bring it down to ford fair and give it tev for me
so if anyone has an unbroken switch panel grey or black let me know
just need to finish the door card bits off then and fit the cards, and then find 2 front seats

not much of an update
but i need to surce a late spec centre console so i can have this flocked to finish the interior off
but ive been messing around with the interior lights, i fitted some xenon number plate lights like the bmws and fancied the same on the interior
so ive done all my kick panels with some funky bulbs, the map lights, needed a little modding, and then these as the main lights
problem i had is there mercedes fitment so the earth and live were backwards to what ford do, obviously a normal bulb would fit either way but leds wouldnt so i took it apart lol
soldered an earth on
soldered the live to teh case and put the earth to the end of the bulb
job done
i know have some white lights in the interior cabin now instead of the yellow normal bulbs give off, i had to do this to the 2 main bulbs on the interior lights will get some better pics when its dark but they are brighter
now another problem was my front speakers, ive had these speakers for 5 years and they are 6.5 with tweet, obviously didnt want to ct my door out so i made these, will be finished soon, as this is the first time ive made something like this
all wood is mdf and angled, then i covered it to get a shape then resined it
then plastered with filler so i can sand down to get a final shape
so now do i cover them in black carpet, vinyl, have them flocked or cover them in carbon
ive also carbon covered my ecu cover and the inserts of the interior door handles, and hopefully my kick plates will come out so i can have some carbon kick plates but ill have to wait and see
im just waiting for some prices of my gauges and ive sourced full cossie running gear which i hope to be collecting at the end of the month

little update
took some pics last night of the lights but was really hard to get a decent pic, but im happy with them as there much brighter than std bulbs
interior
number plate
headlight
my wheels turned up, just need to get some tyres now
more carbon
mirror on
interior door handle inserts
speaker pods have been covered awating first coat of resin
ecu cover ready for flatting and laquering now
and i started to get this ready as im going to have a go at covering it in carbon , so i fibreglass the slats that are not used, and cut the bars out between the slats aswell, only to find i have enough carbon to do 3/4 of it so need to buy more carbon

just go on youtube and and type carbon covering, there is a video which explains it all from carbon mods
i buy my carbon off ebay but use carbonmods resin, which is epoxy resin
its also harder than it looks aswell as ive wasted 100 quids worth of carbon practicing lol, still not perfect but good enough for me anyhow

ill let you know mate, there is no way ill be doing the slot inners but there will be slots, the ones blocked are the ones ford blocked off anyhow so the carbon will sit nice and flat
but i have to admit its not something im looking forward to considering the amount of carbon that will be used and wasted

not much of an update as ive been doing other things, ive managed to get the rear door cards on and finished. i just need to get some ashtray surrounds as i want normal plastic ones for these
ecu cover in
now for the scuttle panel, i am this really is a 2 man job and i wasted my a lot of carbon as the 1st attempt didnt go well, and the 2nd attempt didnt go well but it will do for now, its just the shear length of it as i couldnt get the carbon in the orrect place so ive gone a little short on one corner and its opened the weave up in places due to complex curves
so i sanded all the fibreglass downand resin it waiting for it to go tacky
then tried my best to cover it
you can see the distortion in weave here
and where its too short
im just waiting on resin to finish this off so should be done for the weekend
i also covered my seat side covers, but i forgot to take pic of the seats lol
and ive owned the car almost 6 months and i thought id best have a drive of it before the full conversion, so got it legal enough for road and went round tevs, the car drives as expected like a pile of poo lol, had to jump start it evey time as alternator wasnt charging, but we found out the batt lead wasnt connected properly so this is fixed and seemed to work now, the trip computer stopped working but again loose connection and fixed, so i took a couple of pics to see what it looked like in the sun, its minging but it shines how i wanted it too so im happy with one thing lol
so what ill do is get some cash together and buy some tyres, get the comps on and my coil overs and smoke it around until the cossie engine goes in i think

the seats do need some work as one has been sat in garage for a bit now and the other in attic, they also need some winders and side panels

tbh i dont fancy doing another and im not happy with my one as some places the carbon never stuck so itslumpy, plus i carnt get the resin flat and i know if i try i will end up going through the carbon and the weave has seperated in some places due to complex curves
ill get some pics up tomorrow for you to see
also which handles do you mean inners or outers?
